Special Order made by the Cook County Council constituting a New Road District, &c.

Wellington, 7th November, 1896.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

A SPECIAL ORDER made by the Cook County Council on Friday, 14th August, 1896, and confirmed at a Subsequent Meeting held on Saturday, 12th September, 1896.

RESOLVED, “That a new road district be formed from parts of the Whataupoko and Poverty Bay Road Districts, to be called the Taruheru Road District; that it be divided into three subdivisions, the boundaries to be defined in the following schedules; that five members form a Board for the Taruheru Road District, three members to represent Subdivision No. 1, one member for Subdivision No. 2, and one member for Subdivision No. 3; that the Poverty Bay Road District be amended by taking from that district the portion described as Subdivisions Nos. 1 and 2 of Taruheru Road District; that the Whataupoko Road District boundaries be amended by taking from that district the portion described as Subdivision No. 3 of the Taruheru Road District; that this special order come into force upon the gazetting thereof; that the Boards of Whataupoko and Poverty Bay Road Districts be dissolved upon the day this special order comes into force, and that the election of the several Boards be held within twenty-eight days of the gazetting of this special order.”

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Cook was hereto affixed in the presence of—

I certify that the foregoing special order has been made in accordance with law, and that all the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” have been complied with.

TARUHERU ROAD DISTRICT.

Subdivision No. 1.

Commencing at a point being the centre of the junction of the public road at the north-west corner of Section 17, Makauri Block, and bounded towards the north-west by the centre of a public road to the Taruheru River; thence on the east by the river to southern corner of Tahoka Block; thence on the south-west by Matawhero No. 3 to a stream; thence on the west by that stream to the centre of a public road at the north-west corner of Section 34A, Makauri; thence on the south by the centre of the public road to the north-east corner of Section 34B, Makauri; thence on the east and south by Matawhero No. 2 to the centre of the Ormond public road; and thence on the south-west by the centre of that road to the point of commencement.

Subdivision No. 2.

Commencing at the north-east corner of the Makaraka Cemetery Reserve, and bounded on the north by the Taru-
