Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Manganui Road Board, County of Stratford.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Manganui Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Cross Road Special Area, taken on Monday, the 19th October, 1896, upon the proposal to raise a loan of £200 under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of metalling about 39 chains of the Cross Road, between the two metalled portions, and if any money is left over, to be spent in continuing the metal westwards; to pay out of such loan the cost of raising it; to strike as security on this a special rate of 7d. in the pound over the following lands—viz., Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 48, and 49, Block XIV., Huiroa S.D.:-
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 7, representing 7 votes: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 5; no votes were recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

RESULT of POLL for Proposed Loan of £500 for Special Rating District known as Egmont, Pitt, and Portion of Dorset Road Special Rating District, in the Egmont Road District.
NOTICE is hereby given that the result of the poll taken on 9th October, 1896, on the proposal to borrow £500 from the Colonial Treasurer, under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of metalling and forming such parts of the Egmont Road as are not formed and metalled, was as follows:-
Ratepayers on special roll, 27; votes exercisable on special roll, 28: Number who voted for the proposal, 21; number who voted against the proposal, 3.
As a majority of the number of ratepayers, having a majority of the number of votes exercisable, voted for the proposal, I declare the same to have been duly carried.

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Lincoln Road Board, County of Selwyn.
SPECIAL order made by the Lincoln Road Board on the 14th day of September, 1896, in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882," dividing the Lincoln Road District into two subdivisions:-
"That the prayer of the petitioners praying for the division of the district into two subdivisions, as described therein, be granted—that is to say,-
"No. 1 Subdivision.-Bounded on the N.W. by the Shands and Selwyn Roads; on the S.W. by the Weedon and Springs Roads, Lincoln and Coal Tramway Roads, and Ellesmere Junction Road; on the S.E. by the Ellesmere Road by Dawson's; east by the Halswell River; and N.E. by the old river-bed.
"No. 2 Subdivision.-N.W. by the Ellesmere Road by Dawson's; S.W. by the Ellesmere Junction Road to the Halswell River; and thence by the said river to the Ellesmere Road by Dawson's."
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

MOUNT EDEN ROAD DISTRICT.
Special Order striking a Special Rate.
In pursuance of the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and of "The Rating Act, 1894," the Mount Eden District Road Board resolve as follows, that is to say:-
-
That, in order to provide a contribution towards the widening of the Mount Roskill Road railway-bridge by the New Zealand Government, the Board do now, by special order, make and levy a special rate of 3d. in the pound on all the rateable properties comprised within the boundaries of "The Mount Roskill Road Special Rate District," which are thus described: viz., Commencing at Mr. Baker's Rocky Nook, part of Lot 21, Section 10, north-west corner of the Mount Eden Road District, and also part of Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11; Section 10; southward along the line separating the Mount Eden and Mount Albert Road Districts to the junction with the Mount Roskill Road District at Lot 126, Section 10; thence easterly along the line of road bounding Lot 114, Section 10, to the dividing-line of Lots 114 and 93; thence north to a line intersecting part of Lot 104c, Section 10; thence north and west to the dividing-line of Lots 8 and 9, subdivision of Lot 7, Section 10; thence north to dividing-line of Subdivisions 16 and 17 of Lot 8, Section 10, and Lots 6 and 7, subdivision of Lot 9, Section 10, to View Road; thence westerly to dividing-line of Lots 19 and 20; thence north to north-east corner of Lot 45, Section 10, subdivision of Stonyhurst; thence west along a line the boundary of Miss Thompson's property; thence north and west of the same to the Mount Roskill Road.

That the resolutions passed by the Board on the 31st August, 1896, relating to the striking of a special rate and fixing the boundaries of the special rate district be and are hereby confirmed.

That the said special rate shall be payable in one sum on the 5th day of January, 1897.
Passed at a special meeting of the Mount Eden Road Board, on Monday, the 5th October, 1896.

MOUNT EDEN ROAD DISTRICT, COUNTY OF EDEN.
Special Order.-By-law No. 4.
In pursuance of the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and in order to prevent danger to the structure of the railway-bridge situate in the Mount Roskill Road, and by direction of the Government of New Zealand, the Mount Eden District Road Board hereby make the following by-law, which shall come into operation upon the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette, viz:-

It shall not be lawful for any traction-engine at any time to pass over or upon any part of the structure of the railway-bridge over the Auckland and Kaipara Railway, situate in the Mount Roskill Road, within the Mount Eden Road District.

Any person who, after the coming into operation of this by-law, shall cause any traction-engine to pass over or upon any part of the structure of the bridge referred to in this by-law shall be deemed to have committed a breach of this by-law, and on conviction thereof shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £10.
