Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the seventeenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

Sections 21 to 33 are all bush, such as red-pine, kamai, &c.; soil fair to good, well watered; height above sea-level, from 100ft. to 1,300ft.; distance from Waikawa, from six to eight miles and a half. All the sections except 33 have a frontage to the Waikawa-Catlin's Road.

Sections 1 to 4, Block XIV., are all bush, such as rimu, kamai, rata, &c.; well watered, rough, mostly clay; height above sea-level, from 400ft. to 1,150ft.; distance from Waikawa, from fourteen to fifteen miles. Sections 34 and 35, Block XVII., are all bush, such as rimu, kamai, &c.; soil fair to good, well watered; height above sea-level, from 500ft. to 1,000ft.; distance from Waikawa, from eight to ten miles.

Trustees for Waihi Cemetery appointed.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries Act, 1882," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in the Land District of Otago known as runs numbered 253, 247B, 247c, 171A, 171B, 247D, 446, 215, 240A, 240c, 240D, 334, 334A, 334B, and 340B, and Sections 5 to 9, 11 to 15, Block VII., Tuapeka East Survey District; 16, Block X., Teviot Survey District; 16, Block II., 16, Block VI., Upper Taieri Survey District; 5 and 10, Block VIII., Teviot Survey District; 1, 18 to 20, 35 to 38, Block IV., Crookston Survey District; 1, Block IX., Cardrona Survey District; 1, 2, 5, 6, Block II., 5, Block III., 12, 13, 16, 17, 19 to 22, Block IV., 1 to 7, and 9, Block VIII., Lower Hawea Survey District: as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of "The Land Act, 1892," aforesaid.
