A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1894," for a certain work, to wit, for a road in the Parish
of Onewhero:
And whereas the Raglan County Council has laid before
the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and
also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public
Works Act, 1894," and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that, from and after the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of a
road.

stituted.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of October, 1896.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS in accordance with the provisions of the
fifth section of "The Land Drainage Act, 1893," a
majority of the ratepayers in the district described in the
Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Waimate, have
presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand praying that the land comprised in
the said district be constituted a drainage district under the
provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority contained in the fifth section of "The Land
Drainage Act, 1893," His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
constitute and declare the block of land described in the
said petition, and in the Schedule hereto, to be a district for
the purposes of Part I. of the said Act, and to be called by
the name of "The Wainono Drainage District"; and also,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority con-
tained in the ninth section of the said Act, doth hereby
declare that the Board of Trustees for the said district shall
consist of five members, to be elected under and in accord-
ance with the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, situate in the
Waimate and Waitaki Survey Districts, bounded as fol-
lows: Commencing at a point on the south bank of the
Makikihi River where it is intersected by the Christchurch-
Dunedin Railway-line, and bounded thence towards the
north by that river to the road forming the eastern bound-
ary of Education Reserve No. 679; thence towards the
east by that road to a point in line with the northern bound-
ary-line of Rural Section No. 22520; thence again towards
the north by a right line to that boundary-line; thence by
the northern boundary-line of Rural Section No. 22520
aforesaid; thence again towards the east by the eastern
boundary-lines of Rural Sections Nos. 22520, 30511, 27545,
25637, 33142, 30161, 26594, and 16694, to the Ki-Wainono
Lagoon; thence by the western shore of that lagoon, and
again towards the north by the southern shore of the said
Ki-Wainono Lagoon to the eastern boundary-line of Rural
Section No. 26586; thence again towards the east by the
eastern boundary-line of that section, the abutment of a
road, and by the eastern boundary-line of Rural Section No.
20368, the eastern boundary-line of Native Reserve No. 906,
the eastern boundary-lines of Rural Sections Nos. 20334,
and 11074, by a line across a creek to the eastern boundary-
line of Rural Section No. 10175, thence by that boundary-
line to the southernmost extremity of the said Section No.
10175, thence by a line due east across a creek, and thence by
the eastern boundary-line of Rural Section No. 10013, thence
across a creek and by the eastern boundary-lines of Rural
Sections Nos. 11019, 4224, and 4222, to the southernmost
extremity of the last-mentioned section, thence by a right
line across the Waihao River to the north-eastern corner of
Rural Section No. 3790, thence by the eastern boundary-
line of that section; towards the south-east by the south-
eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 3790 to the
road which forms the north-western boundary of Rural
Section No. 17253: thence towards the west generally by
that road, intersecting Rural Section No. 3790 aforesaid, to
the westernmost corner of Rural Section No. 23994; thence
by the north-western boundary-lines of Rural Sections
Nos. 23994 and 3790, and the western boundary-lines of
Rural Sections Nos. 3790 and 25383, to the northernmost
point of said Section No. 3790; thence by a right line across
the Waihao River, and by the creek which intersects Rural
Section No. 24719, to the road forming the northern bound-
ary of that section; thence by that road and Rural Section
No. 6310, and by the western and north-western boundary-
lines of Rural Section No. 11019, to a point in line with the
south-western boundary-line of Rural Section No. 11337;
thence by a right line to that boundary-line; thence by the
said south-western boundary-line to the road forming the
southern boundary of Rural Section No. 11075; thence
across and by that road to the road forming the western
boundary of the said Section No. 11075; thence by that
road, by the south-western boundary-line of Rural Sections
Nos. 11075 and 16585, by the road forming the western
boundary of Rural Section No. 22948, by the western
boundary-lines of Rural Sections Nos. 24231, 22935, and
16946, by Rural Section No. 6299, to the main trunk rail-
way-line; thence by the railway-line to the road forming
the southern boundaries of Rural Sections Nos. 5907, 6311,
and 10311; thence by that road, by Rural Section No. 10311,
and Reserve No. 907 (in red), to the road forming the north-
eastern boundary of that reserve; thence by a right line
across that road, and by the said road and Rural Section No.
16106, and again by Reserve No. 907 aforesaid, and by the
southern boundary-line of Education Reserve No. 679 afore-
said, to the main trunk railway-line, and by the railway-
line to the Makikihi River aforesaid.
