south-east by Whitaker Terrace, 800 links; towards the

being Allotment No. 578 of the Town of Cambridge East,
and containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 8 perches,
more or less. Bounded towards the north by Allotments
Nos. 349, 350, 351, and 352 of the Town of Cambridge East,
1000 links; towards the east by Bowen Street, 117 links;
towards the south generally by Thornton Road, 290 links
and 820 links; and towards the west by Grosvenor Street,
140 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less.

Also, all that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Allotment No. 579 of the Town of Cambridge East,
and containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 30 perches,
more or less. Bounded towards the north by Allotments
Nos. 353, 354, 355, 356, 357, and 358 of the Town of Cam-
bridge East, 1325 links; towards the south-east and south
generally by Thornton Road, 278 links, 270 links, 865 links,
and 102 links; and towards the west by Bowen Street, 70
links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.

Also, all that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Allotments Nos. 363, 363A, 364, 365, 366, and 368 of
the Town of Cambridge East, containing by admeasurement
6 acres 1 rood 36 perches, more or less. Bounded towards
the north-east by Allotment No. 369 of the Town of Cam-
bridge East, 348 links, and by Allotment No. 51 of the
subdivision of the Town Belt, 455 and 150 links; towards
the south-east by said Allotment No. 51 and Allotment
No. 49 of the same subdivision, 667 links; towards the south-
west by Fox Street, 650 links; and towards the north-east
generally by Allotment No. 380 of the Town of Cambridge
East, 600 links and 38 links, and by Thornton Road, 605
links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.

being Allotment No. 370 of the Town of Cambridge East,
containing by admeasurement 3 roods 36 perches. Bounded
towards the north by Thornton Road, 277 links; towards
the east by Allotment No. 501 of the Town of Cambridge
East, 200 links; towards the south-east by Allotment No. 51
of the subdivision of the Town Belt, 184 links; towards the
south-west by Allotment No. 369 of the Town of Cambridge
East aforesaid, 348 links; and towards the north-west by
Thornton Road, 220 links, to the point of commencement:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

As the several parcels of land are delineated on the official
maps deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office,

Powers delegated to the Springston Domain Board under "The
Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of October, 1896.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council,
dated the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety, making delegation of certain powers in
manner as therein appears, and doth, with the like advice
and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with
respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the
Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act afore-
said, except the powers under or conferred by sections five
and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall
be known as the Springston Public Domain Board, namely,—

JOHN WOODWARD,
JOHN MARSHALL,
PAUL CRUMP,
HENRY KIME, Jun., and
GEORGE McBEAN
(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the second Monday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m., at
    the Road Board Office, Springston, or at such other time or
    place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The
    first meeting shall be held on Monday, the ninth day of
    November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
    Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in
    the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a cast-
    ing vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election
    of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
    Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Land District of
Canterbury, being Section No. 2362 (in red), and containing
10 acres, more or less. Bounded on the northward by pri-
vate lands, 1222 links; on the southward by the Ellesmere
Junction Road, 1191 links; on the eastward by Reserve
No. 372 (in red), 705 links; and on the westward by Reserve
No. 372 (in red), 975 links: as the same is delineated on the
official map in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.

Regulations for the Papamoa No. 2 Special Settlement Asso-
ciation.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of October, 1896.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and sixty-third section
of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the
Governor in Council may from time to time make, alter,
and repeal regulations fixing the terms and conditions upon
which the lands in any special settlement shall be disposed
of by lease in perpetuity:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon him by the herein-
before in part recited Act, and by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby make the following regulations fixing the terms and
conditions upon which the lands known as the Papamoa
No. 2 Special Settlement Association Block, described in the
Schedule to the said regulations, shall be disposed of, that
is to say:—

REGULATIONS.

  1. In the construction of these regulations, unless the con-
    text shall otherwise require, the following expressions shall
    have the meanings hereby assigned to them:—
    "Association" means the Papamoa No. 2 Special Settle-
    ment Association, being a body of persons, not less
    than twelve in number, voluntarily associated to-
    gether at Tauranga, in the Provincial District of
    Auckland, for the purpose of taking up the land
    as a special settlement of farm homesteads:
    "Land" means the land described in the Schedule, set
    apart for a special settlement, to be dealt with under
    these regulations:
