Land taken for the Use of the Lunatic Asylum at Porirua.

GLASGOW, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for the use and convenience of the Lunatic Asylum at Porirua, and for the purpose of securing an efficient water-supply for the same:
And whereas an agreement for the taking of the estate in fee-simple of the said land has been entered into, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this Proclamation should be issued:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the use and convenience of the said Asylum, and for the purpose of securing an efficient water-supply for the same.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Line of Railway known as the Forest Hill Tramway (Portion from 10 miles 62 chains to 12 miles 70 chains).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the line of railway known as the Forest Hill Tramway, from Winton to Hedgehope, is one of the railways specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1885,” and which Act is, in the fifth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1885,” and by sections one hundred and sixty-six and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
FOREST HILL TRAMWAY EXTENSION.
COMMENCING at a point in Section 191, Forest Hill Hundred, distant about 13 chains in a north-westerly direction from the north-western corner of Section 189, the said point being also the terminal point of a portion of the tramway described in a Proclamation dated the 10th September, 1895, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 69, of 19th September, 1895; proceeding thence generally in a south and easterly direction for a distance of about 2 miles 8 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., the said Section 191, Sections 189, 187, 69, 57, 117, parts of Section 186, and Section 74; and terminating at a point in the said Section 74 distant about 850 links in a south-easterly direction from the north-west corner thereof: including all adjoining and intervening places, roads, streams, and watercourses: all in the Provincial District of Otago; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 17730, a copy of which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Invercargill.

Notice proclaiming the Reopening of Roads over Lands in the Clutha County.

A NOTICE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the Clutha County Council, do by this notice hereby proclaim as roads the portions of Crown lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
