Notifying Land in Wellington District for Sale by Public Auction.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of "The
Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday,
the fourteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-six, as the time at which the land enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction at
Wellington; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said
land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule.

vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries
Act, 1882," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

WILLIAM SIMPSON SMITH

to be a Trustee, in the place of William Vaughan, deceased,
to provide for the maintenance and care of the Kowai
Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed
on the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this first day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-six.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to ap-
prove, under sections 46 and 50 of "The Defence
Act, 1886," of the dismissal of

No. 93, Second-class Petty Officer ROBERT SIMPSON,
Timaru Naval Artillery Volunteers, from the New Zealand
Volunteer Force, for insubordination while on parade under
arms at Timaru, on the 10th August, 1896. Dismissal to
date from the 10th August, 1896.

THE following special order, made by the Upper Mahu-
rangi Road Board, is published in accordance with the
provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING A BY-LAW.

THAT any person leaving open, injuring, or removing a
gate, or removing or injuring any fence, permission to erect
which has been granted by the Board, shall be liable to a
penalty of £5 sterling, to be recovered in a summary manner
by the person to whom the permission has been granted,
under an Act entitled "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

It is further provided that, if gates or fences are erected
by the Board, then any person leaving open such gate, or
injuring or removing such fence, shall be proceeded against
by the Board, and shall be subject to the same penalties,
and recoverable in the same manner, as in the case of an
individual who has got permission from the Board to erect
gates or fences across public roads.

This by-law to come into operation on Monday, the 2nd
November, 1896.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
made in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."
