Land declared to be Crown Land subject to "The Land for
Settlements Act, 1894."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been acquired under the provisions of "The
Land for Settlements Act, 1894" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as
by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by
the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as
Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the power and authority conferred by the said Act, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, on the date of the publication hereof in the
New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be Crown land
subject to the provisions of "The Land for Settlements
Act, 1894."

SCHEDULE.

Waimarie Settlement.

All that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing
by admeasurement 430 acres 1 rood 30 perches, more or less,
situated in Waimata Survey District, being Sections Nos. 8,
10, 11, and part of 9 of Block I., and Sections Nos. 12, 13,
14, and 15 of Block VIII., of said survey district: as the
said area is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19185A,
deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District,
and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Makareao Settlement.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 2,367 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or
less, situated in the Moeraki and Dunback Survey Districts,
and comprised in the following parcels, namely: All that
area, containing by admeasurement 525 acres 1 rood 25
perches, more or less, being parts of Sections Nos. 1, 3, and 5,
Block XV., and parts of Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block VIII.,
Moeraki Survey District; also, all that area, containing by
admeasurement 241 acres 2 roods 26 perches, more or less,
being Section No. 33, and parts of Sections Nos. 31 and 34,
Block IV., Dunback Survey District, and Sections Nos. 9, 11,
and 17, and part of Section No. 19, together with a closed
road-line between Sections Nos. 9, 11, 17, and 10, 12, 13, 14,
15, and 16, Block VIII., Moeraki Survey District; also, all
that area, containing by admeasurement 184 acres 2 roods
30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 47, and parts
of Sections Nos. 48 and 49, Block VIII., Moeraki Survey
District; also, all that area, containing by admeasurement
319 acres 3 roods 24 perches, more or less, being parts of
Sections Nos. 56 and 1 of 57, Block VIII., parts of Sections
Nos. 2 and 3, Block XII., and Sections Nos. 23, 24, and 25,
Block VII., Moeraki Survey District; also, all that area, con-
taining by admeasurement 1,096 acres 1 rood 6 perches,
more or less, being parts of Sections Nos. 44, 50, 56, and 1 of
57, Block VIII., parts of Sections Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 16,
and 23, and Section No. 22, Block XII., Moeraki Survey
District: as the said areas are delineated upon the plan
marked S.G. 19156, deposited in the Head Office of the
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
