Temporarily reserving Land in the Auckland and Otago Land Districts.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Land Districts of Auckland and Otago described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

All that parcel of land, situated in the Auckland Land District, being known as portion of Section No. 24 of Block VIII., Maketu Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 29 perches, more or less. Bounded on the north by the other portion of Section No. 24, 1007·7 links; on the east by a public road, 541 links; on the south by the other portion of Section No. 24, 1000 links; and on the west by the other portion of Section No. 24, 541 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a public cemetery.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 22 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Section No. 13 of the Parish of Arapohue, Block II., Tokatoka Survey District, commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of Section No. 13 at a distance of 1500 links from its southernmost angle, and bounded towards the north-west by a line, 1500 links; towards the north-east by a line, 1500 links; towards the south-east by a line, 1500 links; and towards the south-west by a line, 1500 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. For an agricultural and pastoral show-ground.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Parish of Mangapiko, being lots numbered 6, part of No. 7, and part of No. 8, containing 5 acres 3 roods 36 perches, more or less; as shown on Land Transfer certificate, Vol. lxxix., folio 40, in the Deeds Registration Office, Auckland. For a recreation-ground.

OTAGO.

All that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rood 12 perches, more or less, being Section No. 86 of Block III., Benger District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 87 of same block, 662 links; towards the north-east by Crown lands, 1070 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 85 of same block, 703 links; and towards the south-west by Crown lands, 1050 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin. For a punt-site.

Amending the Area of a Reserve in the Otago Land District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that where there has been any error of description made in any notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve after the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may cancel any notification that may have been made in respect of such reserve, and issue fresh notification in respect thereof, with amended particulars and description: And whereas an error was made in the description and area of the land set apart as a reserve for water-supply of the Borough of Queenstown, in the warrant of the second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 19, of the eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four; and it is expedient to cancel the said notification in so far as it relates to Sections 4, 10, 14, Block I., and Section 1, Block VIII., Mid-Wakatipu Survey District:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the warrant of the second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, in so far as it relates to Sections 4, 10, 14, Block I., and Section 1, Block VIII., Mid-Wakatipu Survey District, and do declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be the reserve for the water-supply of the Borough of Queenstown intended by the said notification.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 433 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less, being sections numbered 4, 10, 14, and 19, Block I., Sections 1 and 2, Block VIII., Mid-Wakatipu Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by a road-line and Crown lands, 13244 links; towards the north-west by Crown lands, 6049 links and 2244 links; towards the south-west by Crown lands, 5797 links and 4274 links; and towards the south-east by Section 20 of Block I., Mid-Wakatipu, and Section 19, Block XX., Shotover District, 3354 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Trustees for the Pukekohe Cemetery appointed.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby remove all Trustees previously appointed for the cemetery described in the Schedule hereto, and do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

John Routley, Hugh Wylie, Thomas Wilkinson, Jacob Henry Wright, Robert Fellowes Webster, Thomas Gray Usher, and Thomas Moore. Pukekohe. All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Allotments Nos. 38, 38A, 38B, and 38C of Section No. 2, Parish of Pukekohe, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Allotment No. 37; towards the east by Allotment No. 281; towards the south by a public road; and towards the west by a public road.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.
