The Mangapai Riding to consist of the Road Districts of Maungakaramea, Ruarangi, and Waikiekie, and Outlying Districts of Mangapai and Tangihua, henceforth to be called the Mangapai Outlying District: such riding being shown on the county map hereto annexed, marked A, as Mangapai Riding, and bounded towards the north generally by the Maunu Riding, the Mangapai River and Whangarei Harbour, and by an inlet of such harbour to the north-east corner of Section 10, Parish of Mata; thence by the eastern boundary of such parish, and by the eastern, southern, and western boundary of the Parish of Mangapai, to the south-eastern corner of the Ruarangi Parish; thence generally by the Ruarangi Road District; thence by the Otamatea County: thence on the west generally by the Mongonui River, and by the Hobson County to the Wairoa River.
Waipu Riding to consist of the Waipu North Road District, and the Outlying Districts of Waipu and Ruakaka, to be henceforth called the Waipu Outlying District: such riding being shown on the county map hereto annexed, marked A, as Waipu Riding, and bounded towards the north by the Whangarei Harbour, towards the east by the ocean, towards the south by the Otamatea County, and towards the west by Otamatea County and Mangapai Riding.
Manai'a Riding to consist of the Road Districts of Whareora and Parua, and the Outlying District of Manai'a not included in Kiripaka Riding, such outlying district henceforth to be called the Manai'a Outlying District: and such riding being shown on the county map hereto annexed, marked A, as Manai'a Riding, and bounded towards the north by the Kiripaka Riding; towards the east by the ocean; towards the south by the Whangarei Harbour; towards the west by the said harbour and Maunu Riding, including therein the Islands of Matakohe or Limestone, Pataua, Motukaroro, and other islands adjacent to the coast-line.
The common seal of the body corporate called the “Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Whangarei” was hereunto affixed and impressed by direction of the Council of the County of Whangarei, this 21st day of April, 1896, by and in the presence of

THE following special order, made by the Mauriceville Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Mauriceville Road Board, County of Wairarapa North.
THAT, to meet the interest and charges on a loan of £225, to be raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to extend the formation on Dagg’s Road, a special rate of 4½d. in the pound be struck, and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the following lands: viz., Part 2 of Section 96, containing 105 acres, at the present time occupied by Messrs. Wilton and Oliver; and Section 100: all in Block IV., Kopuaranga Survey District. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, or until the loan is repaid, and shall be payable in two half-yearly instalments on the 2nd January and 2nd July in each year.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made by the Mauriceville Road Board in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

By-laws regulating Traffic on the Oxford–Rotorua Road, Tauranga–Napier Road, Taupo–Tokaanu Road, Lichfield over Maungaiti to Ati-a-muri Road, and Taupo by way of Wairakei to Puketarata Road; also Rotorua–Galatea Road, and the part of the Maketu–Rotorua Road between the Turn-off to Tikitere and Rotorua.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section 130 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and section 2, subsection (1), (a), of “The Public Works and Government Railways Acts Amendment Act, 1895,” I, John McKenzie, Minister of Lands, do, in respect of the Government roads from Oxford to Rotorua, the Government road from Tauranga to Napier, the Government road from Taupo to Tokaanu, the Government road from Lichfield over Maungaiti to Ati-a-muri, and the Government road from Taupo by way of Wairakei to Puketarata, and also on the Government road being that part of the Maketu to Rotorua Road between the turn-off to Tikitere and Rotorua, hereby classify the vehicles mentioned below, and do hereby make the following by-laws in respect of the same, that is to say:—
FOR BUGGY AND COACH TRAFFIC, CARRYING PERSONS OR PASSENGERS ONLY.

The “carrying-capacity” of each such vehicle as aforesaid is to be ascertained by allowing to each passenger, when seated, 1ft. 4in. superficial (measured lengthways) of the seating-accommodation actually and usually provided in or on such vehicle.
The foregoing by-law does not apply to buggies and coaches carrying goods and passengers, or goods other than passengers’ luggage; and buggies and coaches not included herein are subject to By-law No. 4 hereunder.

The use of bullocks as traction animals on the said roads is prohibited for the period from 1st May to 1st November in any year.

The haulage or transportation on the said roads of any engine or machine coming under the definition of “heavy traffic” within the meaning of clause (a) of subsection (1) of section 130 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” during the months of May, June, July, August, and September in any year, shall cease.

The width of tires of all vehicles, other than as classified above, upon the said roads, whether plying for hire or not, shall bear the following proportion to the number of animals employed to draw the same, that is to say,—

- If any person shall commit a breach of any of the foregoing by-laws, he shall be liable, upon conviction for such breach, to a penalty of £5: Provided that the Court before which proceedings may be taken in respect of such breach may, if it think fit, impose such lower penalty as it may think adequate to the particular case.
