By-law regulating the Weight of Engines, Agricultural or other Machines, crossing the Greta Bridge across the Huru-nui River.

WHEREAS the bridge mentioned in the Schedule below (and hereinafter referred to as "the said bridge") is on a Government road, and is under the control of the Minister of Lands, and it is desirable to regulate the weight of any engine, agricultural or other machine, crossing the said bridge :

Now, therefore, I, John McKenzie, the Minister of Lands, in exercise and in pursuance of the powers conferred by section 130 of "The Public Works Act, 1894," and of all other powers and authorities in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby make the following by-law, and I do hereby declare that the same shall come into force upon the 1st day of February, 1896.

BY-LAW.

No engine, agricultural or other machine, which, itself or together with any load thereon, or vehicle, machine, or thing attached thereto or drawn therewith, weighs more than one and a half tons avoirdupois shall be permitted to cross or come upon the said bridge ; and if any person commits a breach of this by-law he is liable to a penalty not exceeding £5.

SCHEDULE.

That bridge over the Hurunui River known as the Greta Bridge, situated at or near the southernmost corner of Sec-tion No. 1 of Block XVII., Lowry Peaks Survey District, the site of which is marked upon the plan numbered S.G. 12973, and deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this purpose vested, I, the Minister acting for the Com-missioner of Trade and Customs, do by this order under my hand revoke and annul the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouse for the reception and security of goods entered to be warehoused without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof, namely,—

Port of Wellington.

The warehouse known as

KEMPTHORNE'S BOND,

as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 396, of the 4th June, 1891.
