“The Designation of Districts Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the Township of Campbelltown, in the Manawatu County, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Rongotea,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such township accordingly, and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

THE HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section four of “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1879,” that the power granted to the Governor in Council by the seventeenth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” in respect of prescribing what dues and rates may be charged on wharves vested in local bodies may be exercised from time to time as occasion may require, and shall not be limited as in the said section is provided: And whereas the wharves at Little Omaha and at Tea Point in Whangateau Harbour are vested in the Omaha Road Board: And whereas it is desirable that dues and rates should be prescribed for the use of the said wharves:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by “The Harbours Act, 1878,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby prescribe that the dues and rates specified in the Schedule hereto shall be charged and taken, on and after the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette, for the use of the said wharves at Little Omaha and Tea Point.

IN exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by “The Servants’ Registry Offices Act, 1895,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby prescribe the following scale of fees chargeable by and payable to license-holders in respect of the hiring of servants:—

WHEREAS the House of Representatives is not now in session, and the Speaker of the said House is absent from the colony: And whereas the said Speaker was so absent at the date when the resignation hereafter mentioned was sent to, and received by, the Governor: Now, therefore, pursuant to the provisions of “The Electoral Act, 1893,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that

has, by writing under his hand addressed to the Governor, resigned his seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of City of Christchurch; that such resignation was received by the Governor on the thirteenth day of January instant; and that the said seat is vacant by reason thereof.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
IN accordance with “The Government Railways Act, 1894,” I, John McKenzie, acting for the Minister for Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government railways, to come into force on and after the 27th day of January, 1896:—
PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.
EXHIBITS FOR MUSEUMS.
Exhibits consigned to Public Museums in New Zealand, and marked “For exhibition at Museum,” will be carried free of railway charge.
PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.
AUCKLAND SECTION.
Coal, slack, native, for lime-burning purposes, from Huntly or Kimihia to Te Kuiti, will be charged 5s. per ton. Minimum quantity, 6 tons per truck.
Goods of Classes P and Q from Kimihia Siding will be charged 1d. per ton in addition to the classified or local rates.
All descriptions of merchandise, timber, minerals, or livestock (except Waikato coals and pumice, which are free), hauled between the Railway-station and the Railway Wharf at Auckland will be charged 2s. 6d. per truck.
