A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-third section of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time to time establish and define, abolish, alter, or reconstitute local districts for the sale or disposal of land, and in like manner from time to time may appoint land offices and land officers or other persons for conducting sales of land in such local districts, and for receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of Crown lands, and for generally carrying into effect the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto is hereby established, defined, and constituted a local district for the sale and disposal of land under the said Act, and that the land office the name of which is in the said Schedule set opposite the name of the said local district is appointed the land office for the said local district.

TEMUKA LOCAL LAND DISTRICT.
Sections 1 to 27, inclusive, of the Orakipaoa Settlement, situate in Blocks III. and VII., Arowhenua Survey District, Canterbury Land District.
Names of Land Offices.
Principal Land Office, Christchurch.
Local Land Office, the Courthouse, Temuka.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the provisions of "The Land for Settlements Act, 1894" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, on the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be Crown land subject to the provisions of "The Land for Settlements Act, 1894."
SCHEDULE.
ORAKIPAOA SETTLEMENT.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 384 acres and 31 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks III. and VII., Arowhenua Survey District, and comprising Lots Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of subdivision of part of Rural Section No. 7818 (as the said subdivision is shown upon a deposit plan numbered 912 in the Christchurch Lands Registry Office), the said area being delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 19118, deposited in the Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
