Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Wairarapa North County Council.

WAIRARAPA NORTH COUNTY.

RESULT of a poll taken upon a proposal to raise a loan of £240 for reconstructing a bridge over the Pori Creek:—

Number of ratepayers on the special roll, 26, representing 32 votes: Number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal, 15, representing 19 votes; number of votes unrecorded, 13.

As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Egmont Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT a special rate of ¾d. in the pound be made and levied on all rateable property in the Egmont and a portion of the Dorset Road Special Rating District, being part of the Egmont Road District (Crown and Native lands excepted), as described in the Schedule hereto.

Schedule.

All the lands that lie within the following boundaries, that is to say: Bounded towards the north by the southern boundary of the Devon Road to the north-west corner of Section 4, Hua District; thence by the western boundaries of Sections 4 and 6 to the north corner; thence in a south-easterly direction by the western boundaries of Sections 46, 48, 49, 51, 53, 55, 56, 60, 61, 64, 65, 67, 69, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, and 82, to the Mangaoraka Stream; thence by the said stream to the southern boundary of Section 45, Hua and Waiwakaiho Hundred; thence by the north boundary of Section 46, the Egmont Road, to the northern boundary of Section 47; thence by the said northern boundary of said Section 47, the Araheke Stream, and the north-western boundary of Section 48, to the Waiwakaiho Stream; and thence by the said stream to the Araheke Stream, by the said stream to the south-eastern boundary of Section 159; thence by the southern boundary of Section 160: bounded towards the north by a swamp; towards the west by Section 135, by the south-east corner of Section 137; thence by the southern boundary of said Section 137 to the eastern boundary of Section 160; thence by the southern boundary of said Section 160; thence by the eastern boundaries of Sections 160, 31, and 32, to the Mangaorake Stream; thence by the said stream to the Mangaone Stream; thence by the said stream to the southern boundary of Devon Road, the starting-point.

Such rate to be an annual-recurring rate until the loan of £500, or such sum as the Colonial Treasurer may grant, is paid off, and shall be due and payable in two equal instalments on the 2nd days of January and July in each year, the first of such instalments to be payable on the 2nd day of January, 1896.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and confirmed by the Egmont Road Board in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Notice of the Laying-off of Roads over Lands in the Hau-tapu Survey District, Wellington Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” that the roads described in the Schedule hereto were, in October, 1894, duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant dated the 20th November, 1893.
