LAND TO BE TAKEN UNDER "THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1882."

In accordance with section 10, subsection (2), of "The Public Works Act, 1882," public notice is hereby given that the West Harbour Borough Council propose to take a road-line through Section 28, Sawyer's Bay Survey District, extending from the Old Beach Road southwards to opposite the level crossing, and by admeasurement 1 rood 25 poles, more or less. Objections by all persons interested must be lodged within forty days from publication of notice. A copy of the plan will be open for inspection during office-hours in the Council Chambers, Rothesay.

COUNTY OF CLUTHA.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND TO MAKE ROAD THROUGH SECTION 13, BLOCK VII., SOUTH MOLYNEUX DISTRICT.

Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Clutha County Council, under the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1894," to take land for a road along the front of Section 13, Block VII., South Molyneux Survey District.

A copy of the plan of the proposed road is open for inspection at the offices of the Clutha County Council, Clinton, from this date.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the date hereof, to the offices of the Clutha County Council, Clinton.

Application having been made to me, under section 28 of "The Life Assurance Policies Act, 1884," for the issue of a copy of the policy on the life of Arthur Dunbebin Bennett, of Sydney (formerly of Brisbane and New Zealand), numbered 5953 in the books of the Government Insurance Commissioner, and evidence having been supplied as to the loss of the original, I hereby give notice that I shall issue a copy as requested unless notice be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 9th day of February, 1896.

NOTICE.

Notice is hereby given that the undersigned Henry Bruce Morton has withdrawn from the business of General Merchant carried on since 1868 in his sole name, and that the said business, which for some years past has been conducted by his brother, Mr. Edward Morton, will from and after this date be carried on as heretofore under the style of "H. B. Morton and Co."

At extraordinary general meetings of the above company, duly convened, and held respectively on the 17th day of December, 1895, and the 8th day of January, 1896, the subjoined special resolution was duly passed and confirmed:—

"That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. Alfred de Bathe Brandon be appointed Liquidator."
