THE GISBORNE NEWSPAPER PRINTING AND PUBLISHING COMPANY (LIMITED).
At a general meeting of the shareholders of the company, convened and held in Mr. Townley's Hall, Gisborne, on the 24th September, 1894, at 8 o'clock p.m., to receive and consider a report of the directors upon the position of the company, the following resolution was proposed, seconded, and unanimously passed: viz., "That the report of the directors which contains the following statements and recommendations—viz., 'The directors submit a statement of receipts and expenditure to the 24th September, 1894, and also a statement of assets and liabilities at this date. The result shows that it will not pay to publish a weekly paper. The directors are of opinion the publication of the Star should cease, and that such arrangements as they can make about the plant may be made with the owners thereof, and the business of the company voluntarily wound up'—be and is hereby adopted, with instructions to dispose of the property of the company in such way as they may judge best, and to take all steps required to meet and pay off all liabilities of the company as early as possible."
And at the annual general meeting of the company, held in Mr. Townley's Hall, Gisborne, on the 1st May, 1895, at 8 o'clock p.m., the following resolution was moved, seconded, and unanimously passed: viz., "That the report of the directors and balance-sheet be adopted; and that, with a view to the company being wound up in the least expensive manner, the powers of the directors shall be and are hereby limited to taking all steps necessary for the discharge of existing liabilities and realisation of assets, and that in all other respects the company shall cease to carry on business, and be allowed to die a natural death." And at the same meeting the existing directors were re-elected—viz., Messrs. William Sievwright, J. C. Dunlop, T. B. Sweet, Alfred Budd, William Ranger, Joshua Sigley, with the addition of J. Walter Bull in place of H. C. Thomson.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 2s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before three o'clock of the day preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed "Public a/c," and exchange added.
Postage- or duty-stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are issued.
Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to prevent delay in publication a sufficient remittance should accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be returned with receipted account.
