SCHEDULE.

Upper Plain Irrigation District.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3,070 acres, more or less, being part of the County of Wairarapa North, together with a portion of the Borough of Masterton. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 16, Block XV., Miki-miki Survey District, from its south-western corner to its south-eastern corner; thence towards the east by the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 17, 18, and 19 of the said Block XV.; thence towards the south-east by part of Section No. 20, Block XV., to a public road; thence towards the north-east by the said road to the road forming the north-western boundary of Section No. 98, Masterton Small-farm Block; thence towards the north-west and north-east by public roads to the easternmost corner of Section No. 99 of the said block; thence again towards the south-east and north by the Akura Native Reserve to a public road; thence again towards the east by the said road to the boundary of the Borough of Masterton; thence again towards the north, north-east, and south-east respectively by lines through part of the Ngaumatawa Block to the northern corner of Section No. 32, Masterton Small-farm Block; thence again towards the north by the Waipokaka Creek to a public road (Railway Road); thence again towards the south-east by the said road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section No. 31; thence again towards the north-east by a line across a road and by Sections Nos. 31 and 30, Masterton Small-farm Block, to a public road (Chapel Street); thence again towards the south-east by the said road to the southern corner of Section No. 22, Masterton Small-farm Block; thence towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 21 and 28, Masterton Small-farm Block, to a public road (Railway Road); thence again towards the south-east by the said road (as diverted by the Railway Department) to its junction with the West Bush Road; thence again towards the south-west by the said West Bush Road to the westernmost corner of Section No. 103, Masterton Small-farm Block; thence again towards the north-west by a public road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 126; thence towards the south-west by a road and Section No. 126; thence again towards the south-east by the said Section No. 126 to the north-eastern bank of the Waingawa River; thence again towards the south-west by the said river to the commencing-point: excepting therefrom the subdivisions of Sections Nos. 49, 50, and 51, Masterton Small-farm Block; drawn and tinted pink on the plan marked S.G. 27891, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington.

Amending Regulations for Trout- and Perch-fishing, Wellington Acclimatisation District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of November, 1895.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of September then instant, certain regulations were made under "The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), providing for trout- and perch-fishing within the Wellington Acclimatisation District as therein defined: And whereas it is expedient to revoke number five of the said regulations, and to make other provision in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the said regulation number five, and in lieu thereof doth hereby order as follows:β€”

  1. Every such license shall entitle the person named therein to fish with one rod and line only, and with the following baits: Natural or artificial fly, natural or artificial minnow, and any small indigenous fish, grasshoppers, beetles, spiders, creepers, and worms: Provided that no worm shall be used except upon a running-line attached to a rod and reel, nor shall the holder of any license issued hereunder, or any other person, use any set rod or line for the purpose of taking trout or perch in or from any of the waters aforesaid.

Changing the Name of Alexandra (Auckland).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS there are now existing two places in the Colony of New Zealand bearing the same name, that is to say, the Borough of Alexandra, in the County of Vincent, and the Township of Alexandra, in the Waipa County, the last-named being the more recent in date of existence: And whereas, under the fourth section of "The Designation of Districts Act, 1894," I lately required the County Council of the Waipa County, being the local authority having jurisdiction in that behalf, to submit a new name for such township for my approval, as mentioned in the said section: And whereas the said Council hath accordingly submitted to me the name of "Pirongia" in lieu of the existing name of "Alexandra":

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections two and four of "The Designation of Districts Act, 1894," and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the Township of Alexandra, in the Waipa County, shall be and the same is hereby altered to "Pirongia," and do assign the last-mentioned name to such township accordingly, and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the tenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.
