No. 7613.—15th May, 1895.—Alexander Storrie, of In-
vercargill, New Zealand, Implement-maker. An invention
for "Storrie's Spring Ridging Plough for drills and other
machines."
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows,
viz.:
—
- To insert at the beginning of the description, after the
word "statement," page 1, line 10, the following words,
viz.: "The object of this invention is to provide a ridge
ploughing appliance for attachment to grain- and manure-

and seed or manure sown simultaneously or separately by
the same implement.
"In attaching ridge ploughing appliance to an ordinary
grain-drill, I may employ independent drawbars, or I may
use some of the drawbars of the implement from which
seeding-coulter have been removed.
"The mould-boards for forming each of the drills are con-
ected to a frame which is pivotally attached to a drawbar,
adjusting-holes being provided in the forward part of the
frame whereby the angle of the mould-boards and con-
sequent size of the drill and ridges may be adjusted.
"The forward ends of the drawbars may also be arranged
to raise and lower for the same purpose if desired.
"The frame has a rearwardly-extending bar which is con-
nected with a suitable lifting-gear for raising the ridging
apparatus from the ground, and also carries a slipper or
land-wheel, which prevents the ridger from sinking too
deep in soft land.
"An extension or bracket upon the frame is connected by a
bar to a spring fixed upon the drawbar, forming a safety
device for preventing breakage of the apparatus when an
obstruction is encountered.
