Land set apart for Haldane Improved Farm Special
Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.
I
N pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by
the one hundred and sixty-second section of "The
Land Act, 1892," and of all other powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the block of land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared
open for special settlement: subject, however, to the provi-
sions of section 121 of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.
HALDANE IMPROVED FARM SPECIAL SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 2,200 acres, more or less, situated in
Blocks IX. and X., Waikawa Survey District. Bounded
towards the north generally by a public road; towards the
east generally by Section No. 1, Block X., Section No. 10,
Block IX., and the Haldane estuary; towards the south
generally by the sea, and Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block IX.,
Waikawa Survey District; and towards the west by Otara
Survey District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

Declaring that the Diversion of the Waipori River, in Mau-
ngatua Survey District, shall be a Public Work.

A PROCLAMATION.
W
HEREAS by section one hundred and sixty-four of
"The Public Works Act, 1894," it is, inter alia,
enacted that whenever it is found desirable, for the safety
or proper maintenance of any public work constructed or
authorised under the authority of Her Majesty or the Go-
vernor, or the Government of the colony, or by or under the
provisions of any Act of the General Assembly, to alter or
divert, either wholly or partially, any river, stream, or water-
course, the Governor, by Proclamation, may declare that
the course of such river, stream, or watercourse shall be
altered or diverted, and thereupon the said alteration or
diversion shall be a public work within the meaning of the
said Act:
And whereas a certain public work, to wit, a road con-
structed at or near the banks of the river mentioned in the
Schedule hereto, is endangered by the said river, and it is
desirable to divert the course of such river, in the manner
hereinafter provided, for the safety and proper maintenance
of the said road:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise
of the powers granted by the hereinbefore in part recited
Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the course of the river mentioned in the Schedule
hereto shall be diverted as therein set forth so that it may
pass through Section 50, Block II., Maungatua Survey Dis-
trict, Provincial District of Otago, a reserve made for this
purpose.

SCHEDULE.
THE diversion shall include all that area, 111 links in width,
the western side of which commences at or near the north-
western corner of Section No. 50 (reserve), Block II., Mau-
ngatua Survey District, on the right bank of the Waipori
River, and proceeds southerly, intersecting the said section,
to the Waipori River at or near a point distant about 2Β½

chains from the south-western corner of the said Section
No. 50; as the same is delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 22510, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of
Wellington, and thereon shown in red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

"The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third
day of January, 1895.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

Y virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order
and declare that the reserves made for public recreation in
the Auckland Land District, and known as the Mount
Maunganui Recreation-ground, and described in the
Schedule hereto, shall be and the same are hereby brought
under the operation of and declared to be subject to the
provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881," and such
domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt
with in manner directed by the said Act by the Domain
Board constituted by an Order in Council issued on the third
day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

SCHEDULE.
THE two small islands outside Tauranga Heads, and known
as Moturiki Island, containing 2 acres 2 roods 37 perches,
and Motuotau Island, containing 6 acres and 30 perches.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third
day of January, 1895.

Y virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order
and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in
the Land District of Auckland, and known as the Ngarua-
wahia Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the
operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of
"The Public Domains Act, 1881"; and such domain shall
hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in man-
ner directed by the said Act, by the Domain Board consti-
tuted by an Order in Council issued on the twenty-second
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Allotment No. 663A of the Town of Ngaruawahia, con-
taining by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the north-east by Flamstead Street, 1920 links; and
towards the south-west and north-west generally by the
Waipa River to the point of commencement: be the afore-
said linkage more or less.
