Extending Times for Preparation of Cheviot County Valuation List.
GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1895.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the preparation of the valuation list of the County of Cheviot was not completed by or within the time mentioned in “The Rating Act, 1894”; and it is expedient to extend the said time, and also the times for taking certain action consequent on such preparation:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the said “Rating Act, 1894,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the completion of the valuation list of the County of Cheviot until the twenty-first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five; and doth also extend the time during which such valuation list shall lie open for inspection, and during which objections thereto may be made, until the twenty-first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

Powers delegated to the Hunterville Domain Board under "The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1895.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the eighteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the pieces or parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Hunterville Domain Board, namely,—

Albert Edward Ashcroft,
Duncan McKay, Sen.,
James Arthur Pawson,
Charles Dudding,
John H. Norris,
William Meldrum,
Alexander Howie Wilson, and
Henry Valder
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Wednesday in each month, at eight o'clock p.m., at Hunterville, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the eleventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.
- All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 1 rood 4 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 17, 18, 25, 26, 33, and 54, Hunterville, Ongo Survey District. Bounded on the north by Sections Nos. 121, 122, and 10, 1000 links; on the east by a public road, 1024 links; on the south by a public road, 1018 links; and on the west by Section No. 53, 832 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Wellington.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 17 acres 3 roods 8 perches, more or less, being Section No. 35, Block XV., Tiritiraukawa Survey District. Bounded on the north by a public road, 1970 links; on the south-east by Section No. 25, 735 links; on the south-west by Poukiore No. 1 Block, 1866 links; and on the north-west by Section No. 36, 821 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Wellington.

Amending Regulations for Colonial Pilots' Licenses.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS it is provided by section 31 of “The Shipping and Seamen's Act Amendment Act, 1894,” that the Governor may from time to time license pilots, to be called “colonial pilots,” within the colony, subject to such regulations as he may prescribe, and to the payment into the Consolidated Fund of an annual fee not exceeding five pounds, and may suspend or cancel any such license:
And whereas the Governor did, by warrant under his hand, dated the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 10, of the seventh day of the same month, prescribe regulations for the licensing of colonial pilots:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke clause one of such regulations, and to prescribe other regulation in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the hereinbefore-recited Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby revoke the regulation numbered one prescribed by the said warrant of the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and in exercise of the like power and authority doth hereby prescribe the following regulation, and doth order that it shall take the place of the regulation number one, which is revoked:—
REGULATION.
Licenses without Examination.
- Any person who, prior to the 1st January, 1895, has either commanded a vessel of not less than 300 tons register trading on the coasts of New Zealand, or been engaged in piloting similar vessels on the coasts of New Zealand, may, subject to the approval of the Marine Department, receive a license as colonial pilot without undergoing examination: provided that he held prior to the above date a certificate of competency or service of a grade not lower than that of master, home-trade, and satisfies the Marine Department as to his sobriety and general trustworthiness.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

Extension of Period for Election of Boards of Conciliation.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894,” it is, inter alia, enacted that Boards of Conciliation shall be elected for the respective industrial districts, but that the Governor may from time to time extend the period within which such election shall be held: Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby extend the period within which the election of the Board of Conciliation for each of the said industrial districts may be held until the sixteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.
