Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by the one hundred and sixty-eighth section of
"The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the allotments of Crown land respectively
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are
hereby set apart and declared open for selection as village-
homestead allotments.

Division of the Borough of Carterton into Three Wards.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1886," section twenty-seven, it is enacted that, if not
less than one-fourth of the burgesses of a borough petition
the Governor praying him to divide such borough into wards,
the Governor may, by Proclamation, divide such borough
into not more than six wards, and shall in such Proclama-
tion assign such names and boundaries to each ward as he
thinks fit: And whereas not less than one-fourth of the
burgesses of the Borough of Carterton have petitioned me to
divide such borough into wards:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the herein-
before-recited authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the Borough of Carterton shall be, and the same is hereby,
divided into three wards, with the names and boundaries set
forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
WARDS IN CARTERTON BOROUGH.
Belvedere Ward.
Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 204, Taratahi
Plain Block, across the main road, and by Section No. 144
of said block; towards the south-east generally by Section
No. 116 of said block, across a road, by the north-eastern
boundary of Section No. 33 of Carterton Township, across a
road, by Sections Nos. 34 and 46 of said township, and by a
line in the same direction to the middle of the Richmond
Road; towards the south-west generally by a line along the
middle of the said road to the middle of the main road, by a
line along the middle of the main road to a point in line with
the south-west boundary-line of Section No. 208, Taratahi
Plain Block, to and by that boundary-line and its production
to the middle of Lincoln Road; and towards the north-west
generally by a line along the middle of the Lincoln Road to
the middle of the Belvedere Road, by a line along the middle
of the Belvedere Road to a point in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Section No. 173 of Taratahi Plain
Block, by a right line to and by said Section No. 173 and
Section No. 141 to Section No. 204 of said Taratahi Plain
Block.
Richmond Ward.
Bounded towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 140 and
204, Taratahi Plain Block: towards the south-east and north-
east by Belvedere Ward, hereinbefore described, to a point
in line with the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 58
of Carterton Township: again towards the south-east by a
right line to the northern corner of said Section No. 58 of
Carterton Township, and by said Section No. 58 and Section
No. 70 and a line in the same direction to the middle of the
Moreton Road: towards the south-west generally by a line
along the middle of Moreton Road to the middle of the main
road, by a line along the middle of the main road to a point
opposite the middle of the road between Sections Nos. 210
and 211, and by a line along the middle of that road and of
the Brooklyn Road to a point 2000 links, more or less, from
the south-eastern boundary-line of Original Section No. 179:
thence towards the north-west generally by a right line to
the westernmost corner of Section No. 177, by the north-
west boundary of said Section No. 177 to Section No. 176:
thence by lines so as to include Allotments Nos. 41, 31, and
32 of last-named section, and a subdivision of Section
No. 175 of the said Taratahi Plain Block, containing 7 acres
2 roods 25 perches, and by a right line in the same direction
across Belvedere Road; thence by Section No. 173 to a
point 2026 links distant from the southernmost corner of
said Section No. 173; thence by a right line to a point on
the south-west boundary of Section No. 141, 2028 links from
its southernmost corner; thence by the south-west bound-
ary of said Section No. 141 to a point 2300 links from its
southernmost corner; and thence by a line parallel to the
south-east boundary-line of Section No. 141 to Section
No. 140, all of said Taratahi Plain Block.
Lincoln Ward.
Bounded towards the north-east generally by Richmond
Ward hereinbefore described; towards the south-east by a
right line to and by Sections Nos. 82 and 94, across a road,
and by Section No. 107, all of Carterton Township; towards
the south-west by a right line to the southern corner of Sec-
tion No. 106, and by the road-line forming the north-east
boundaries of Sections Nos. 135, 215, and 243 of Taratahi
Plain Block to a point distant 2100 links from the southern-
most corner of Original Section No. 241; and towards the
north-west by a line 2100 links distant from the south-
eastern boundary-line of Original Section No. 241 to Section
No. 184, thence by a right line to a point on the north-
east boundary-line of said Section No. 184 distant 2000
links from the easternmost corner of said Original Section
No. 184, and thence by a right line parallel to the south-
east boundary-lines of Original Sections Nos. 182 and 181 to
the north-east boundary of said Section No. 181; and thence
by a right line in direction of the westernmost corner of
Section No. 177 to the middle of Brooklyn Road.

Changing the Name of Campbelltown (Manawatu).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS there are now existing two places in the
Colony of New Zealand bearing the same name,
that is to say, the Borough of Campbelltown, in the County
of Southland, and the Township of Campbelltown, in the
Manawatu County, the last-named being the more recent in
date of existence: And whereas, under the fourth section of
"The Designation of Districts Act, 1894," I lately required
the County Council of the Manawatu County, being the local
authority having jurisdiction in that behalf, to submit a new
name for such township for my approval, as mentioned in
the said section: And whereas the said Council hath accord-
ingly submitted to me the name of "Rongotea" in lieu of the
existing name of "Campbelltown":
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred on me by sections two and four of
"The Designation of Districts Act, 1894," and of all other
