Land declared to be Crown Land subject to "The Land for Settlements Act, 1894."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the provisions of "The Land for Settlements Act, 1894" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, on the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be Crown land subject to the provisions of "The Land for Settlements Act, 1894."

SCHEDULE.

Patoa Settlement.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 7,132 acres 3 roods 10 perches, more or less, situated in the Waipara and Waitohi Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north by the road reserve along the Hurunui River; towards the east by the road and Northern Railway Reserve; towards the south generally by a road, Sections Nos. 25049 and 13716, again by a road, Sections Nos. 32391 and 7076, and the Waitohi River; towards the west generally by a road, Sections Nos. 29654 and 29463, again by a road and the Hurunui Village Settlement: excluding from the above-described area Sections Nos. 33156, 33844, 33845, and Reserve No. 2933.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 166 acres, more or less, situated in the Waipara Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Sections Nos. 32147 and 32878; and towards the east, south, and west by roads.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 48 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more or less, situated in the Waipara Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road; towards the east by Sections Nos. 29257 and 30110; and towards the south and west by Section No. 33863.

As the above-described areas are delineated upon a plan marked S.G. 19025, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's

Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 27 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section No. 70, in Block X., Christchurch Survey District, and comprised in Allotments Nos. 1 to 26, inclusive, of Braco Settlement (formerly Burnside Villa-sites): as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19058, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
