IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred by section 9 of “The
Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,”
Ernest Frank Coe, of Irwell ;
John Goodrich Sheddon Tonkin, of Waikari ;
John Radford, of Gebbie's Valley, Christchurch ;
Wyndham Gray, of Woodend, Christchurch ;
John Harry Harrison Keetley, of Kaiapoi ;
Charles Leach, of Rangiora ;
Richard D'Acre Harman, of Christchurch ;
Richard Steele, of Christchurch ;
Edward D'Auvergne, of Sefton ;
William Sheate, of Greenpark ; and
Benjamin Coleman, of Greta Peaks,
have been appointed officers for the purposes of that Act for
that part of the Provincial District of Canterbury to the
north of and including the Rakaia River, and for the waters
of the Clarence River which are within the County of Marl-
borough.

Board.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of
the Eketahuna Road Board, are published in ac-
cordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1886.”

Eketahuna Road Board.
THE following is the result of a poll taken at the Road Board
Office, Eketahuna, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £275
for formation and metalling on Stanley and Cullen Streets,
Parkville :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 35 ; number of
pollable votes, 35 : Number of ratepayers that voted for the
proposal, 19, exercising 19 votes ; number of ratepayers that
voted against the proposal, 0 ; number of ratepayers who did
not exercise their votes, 16, being entitled to 16 votes.
As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number
of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are in each case
a majority of the total number on the roll, I therefore
declare the proposal carried.

The following is the result of a poll taken at the Road Board
Office, Eketahuna, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £900
for metalling on the Tawataia Road :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 15 ; number of
pollable votes, 18 : Number of ratepayers that voted for the
proposal, 8, exercising 10 votes ; number of ratepayers that
voted against the proposal, 0 ; number of ratepayers that did
not exercise their votes, 7, being entitled to 8 votes.
As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number
of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are in each case
a majority of the total number on the roll, I therefore
declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Cook County Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886.”

Notice is hereby given that, at a poll of the ratepayers in
the Kiore Special District, taken on the 10th August, upon a
proposal by this Council to raise a loan of £1,200 for the
construction of three roads in that district, the following
votes were recorded :—
For the proposal, 2 ratepayers exercised 6 votes.
As the whole number of ratepayers within the special
district voted in favour of the proposal, I declare it carried.

Waitotara County Council, is published in accordance
with the provisions of “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886.”

Result of a poll taken on Friday, 6th September, 1895, on a
proposal to raise a loan of £600 for the construction of three
miles and a half of the Rangitatau West Road :—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 6 ; number of votes exercis-
able, 6 : Number of votes given in favour of the loan, 6 ;
against, nil.
As a majority of the special roll, exercising a majority of
votes, have voted in favour of the loan, I therefore declare
the proposal carried.

Pahiatua County.—Result of Poll, Proposed Loan No. 39,
Nichol's Road, Pahiatua Village Settlement.
The following is the result of a poll taken on 5th September,
1895, on a proposal to borrow £120 under “The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for forming and metalling
Nichol's Road from Carisbrook Road to Nichol's gate.
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 5, representing 5
votes : Votes recorded in favour, 5.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Otaki Road
Board, is published in accordance with the provisions
of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Otaki Road Board.—Special Orders creating Special
Port District No. 5.
That this Board intends, by special order, to form a special
district, to be called “Special District No. 5,” comprising the
following lands: namely, Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of
Sections 2 and 3 of Awaohonu No. 3A ; and 53 acres 3 roods
15 perches of Section 5A of Pukehou 5L, Block IX., Waiotu
Survey District. The said special district being formed for
the purpose of raising a loan of £100 under “The Govern-
ment Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the construction
of the Awaohohu Road, the same being within the said
special district, and for the striking of a special rate to pay
interest on the said loan.
