Land set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the second section of "The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891"
(herein termed "the said Act"), it is, amongst other things,
enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall
be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary
that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the pur-
poses of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block
of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for
settlement.
SCHEDULE.
TOKATOKA BLOCK.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situate in Blocks XI., XII., XV., and XVI., Tokatoka Survey
District, and Block III., Te Kuri Survey District, and con-
taining by admeasurement 11,080 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the north-east by the road which forms
the south-western boundary of the Parishes of Tokatoka and
Omaru; towards the east by a public road, by Section
No. 2 of Block XVI., Tokatoka Survey District, and by the
western boundary-line of that section produced to the Wai-
roa River; towards the south and south-west by the Wairoa
River and a road reserve along its left bank; towards the
north by a public road south of Section No. 10 of Block XI.,
Tokatoka Survey District; and towards the west by a public
road bounding Sections Nos. 8, 9, and 10 of last-named
block.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
five.

Allocating Land acquired for a Railway to the Purposes of a
Road in Templeton Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Lyttelton-Bluff Railway, and it is considered desirable to
allocate such land to the purposes of a road:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister for Rail-
ways that such land is not required for railway purposes:
And whereas such land is situated in Templeton Road
District, the local authority of which has consented to the
issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said road:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities in me vested by section one
hundred and seventy-seven of "The Public Works Act,
1894," and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the
publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road,
and that the said road shall be under the control of the
Templeton Road Board, and shall be maintained by the
said Board in like manner as other public highways are
controlled and maintained by the said Board.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing 1 acre 1 rood 23 perches,
more or less, situate at Templeton, on the Lyttelton-Bluff
Railway, being a part of Rural Section 2737, and being
bounded on the north-west by the north-west boundary of the
railway land, a distance of 1260 links; on the south-east
by the railway fence and by the north-west side of Jones
Road; on the north-east by the north-east boundary of the
railway land, a distance of 101 links, and by the railway
fence; and on the south-west by the south-west boundary of
the railway land, a distance of 149 links: as the said parcel
of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
6554, deposited in the office of the Minister for Railways,
at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
