THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waitaki County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
The following is the result of a poll taken on the 13th day of July, 1895, on the proposal to borrow £2,000, under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for constructing water-races in the Papakaio Water-race District:—
Number of ratepayers within the special district, 70, capable of exercising 109 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal, 47, exercising 73 votes; number of votes against the proposal, 8.
As a majority of the ratepayers within the special district voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to a majority of the votes appearing on the special roll, I hereby declare the proposal carried.
