Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 24th July, 1895.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been
accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in
such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee
of 10s. is payable with such notice:—

No. 7221.—20th October, 1894.—James Dalziel, of Fern-
side, Canterbury, New Zealand, Farmer. An invention for
an improved adjustable bearing. (Specification, 5s.; draw-
ings, 7s. 6d.)*

No. 7238.—1st November, 1894.—John Drummond, of
Daneyirke, New Zealand, Blacksmith. An invention for
extracting stumps and trees, to be called "Drummond's
Climax Tree- and Stump-extractor." (Specification, 7s. 6d.;
drawings, 7s. 6d.)*

No. 7247.—7th November, 1894.—James Reid Anderson,
of Ashurst, Wellington, New Zealand, Sheep-farmer. An
invention for "Anderson's Boot-fastener." (Specification,
2s. 6d.; drawings, 3s.)*

No. 7390.—25th January, 1895.—Charles P. W. Longdill,
of Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand, Farmer. An invention
for improvement in wire-fence straining-gear. (Specification,
3s. 6d.; drawings, 10s.)

No. 7737.—8th July, 1895.—Alexander King, of Lovell's
Flat, Otago, New Zealand, Blacksmith. An invention for an
improved rabbit-trap, with attachments for preventing it
choking, and with easily-detached spring, to be called "King's
Simplex Rabbit-trap." (Specification, 4s.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)

No. 7739.—11th July, 1895.—William Tyree, of 71,
Cathedral Square, Christchurch, New Zealand, Inventor.
An invention for an improved apparatus for use in teaching
writing. (Specification, 5s. 6d.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7740.—11th July, 1895.—Richard Brinsley, Pattern-
maker, and Alexander George Christopher, Accountant, both
of Dunedin, New Zealand. An invention for improvements
in cooking-ranges, to be called "Brinsley and Company's
Champion Range." (Specification, 5s.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)

No.7741.—12th July, 1895.—Ranald Macintosh Macdonald,
of 71, Cathedral Square, Christchurch, New Zealand, En-
gineer. An invention for improvements in motors especially
applicable to tramways. (Specification, 8s. 6d.; drawings,
12s. 6d.)

No. 7743.—11th July, 1895.—Arthur John William Mun-
den, of Bay View Road, Musselburgh, Dunedin, Boot-clicker,
and John Mitchell Muir, of George Street, North Dunedin,
Hairdresser, both in New Zealand. An invention for an
improved brake for velocipedes. (Specification, 7s. 6d.;
drawings, 7s. 6d.)

No. 7744.—15th July, 1895.—Alexander Kettle Young
Anderson, of 14, Scott Street, St. Kilda, near Melbourne,
Victoria, Wool-classer and Fellmonger, and John Mackintosh,
of 436, Chancery Lane, Melbourne aforesaid, Gentleman.
An invention for an improved method of treating hides and
skins for the purpose of removing lime and other undesirable
matter therefrom, and preparing the hides and skins for
being immersed in or otherwise treated by tannin. (Specifi-
cation, 10s.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)

No. 7746.—11th July, 1895.—John Arnaboldi, of Cam-
bride, Auckland, New Zealand, Machinist. An invention
for straining fencing-wire, to be called "The Excelsior Wire-
roller." (Specification, 3s.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7750.—17th July, 1895.—Philip John Murtagh, of
Feilding, New Zealand, Veterinary Surgeon. An invention
entitled "Murtagh's Improved Portable Race-starting

No. 7755.—19th July, 1895.—Charles Liebmann Kline,
of 248, West 133rd Street, New York, United States of
America, Electrician. An invention for keg-washing ma-
chinery. (Specification, 17s.; drawings, £1 7s. 6d.)

No. 7756.—19th July, 1895.—Arthur Thomas Timewell,
of 3236, Lake Avenue, Chicago, United States of America,
Manufacturer. An invention for sack filling and sewing
machines. (Specification, £2 5s.; drawings, £2 15s.)

No. 7758.—19th July, 1895.—Edward Delavan Bronson,
of Denver, United States of America, Mining Engineer.
An invention for improvements in methods of and apparatus
for placer-mining. (Specification, 10s.; drawings, 12s. 6d.)

No. 7759.—19th July, 1895.—Edward Waters, of 131,
William Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Patent Agent
(nominee of Adel Barreto Pinto, of Rio de Janeiro, United
States of Brazil, Civil Engineer). An invention for pre-
serving meat by the help of electricity. (Specification,
8s. 6d.)

Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand, Horse-trainer,
late of Detroit, United States of America. An invention
for improved harness-gear for breaking in and securing
