Special Orders (3) made by the Wirokino Road Board, County of Horowhenua.

THE following special orders, made by the Wirokino Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

Wirokino Road Board.

Special order made and confirmed by the Wirokino Road Board on the 25th May, 1895—"Making a special district, comprising Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Block III., Waiopenu Survey District, and Sections 18 and 19, Block XV., Mount Robinson Survey District, for the purpose of striking a special rate to provide for interest and other annual charges on a loan of £500 to be raised under 'The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,' and its amendments, for acquiring and constructing a road through Ihakara's reserve."

I certify that the above special order was duly made by the Wirokino Road Board in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

Dated at Levin, this 5th day of July, 1895.

Special order made and confirmed by the Wirokino Road Board on the 24th April, 1895—"Striking, under authority sections 24 to 26 of 'The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886,' a special rate of 3d. in the pound on the rateable value of the properties in the Aratangata Special District—viz., part Aratangata owned by Davies and Stuart; Ohinekakao No. 2; part Ohinekakao No. 1, 200 acres; parts Takapu No. 1; Sections 18 and 19, Block XIV., Mount Robinson Survey District; and part Manawatu-Kukutauaki 7d, 400 acres. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and payable in two equal instalments on the 1st June and 1st December in each year."

I certify that the above special order was duly made by the Wirokino Road Board in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, due and payable in equal instalments on the 1st June and 1st December in each year."

I certify that the above special order was duly made by the Wirokino Road Board in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

Notice to Mariners, No. 22 of 1895.

Raglan (Whaingaroa) Harbour Beacons.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 4th July, 1895.

WITH reference to Notice to Mariners, No. 37 of 1894, it is hereby notified that the Raglan Harbour Board has removed the beacons at the entrance to that harbour back to their original positions on the North Head, and that they now lead over the bar north-east by east-half-east.

Application to proclaim certain Rivers and Creeks, together with all their Tributaries, Watercourses for the Deposit of Tailings.

in, upon, or discharged from any claim or licensed holding adjacent to such watercourses shall be suffered to flow or be discharged:—

Nelson Provincial District.

  1. That river known as the Aorere River, which flows north-easterly, from its source near Mount Domett for a distance of about thirty-six miles, to the ocean; and also the several tributaries thereof.

  2. That creek known as Moonlight Creek, and all the tributaries thereof, from its source to the point where it discharges into the Grey River on the north side, opposite Callaghan's.

  3. That creek known as Baxter's Creek, and all the tributaries thereof, from its source to the point where it discharges into the Grey River on the north side, opposite Callaghan's.

  4. That creek known as Caledonian Creek, and all the tributaries thereof, from its source to the point where it discharges into the Grey River on the north side, opposite the Ahaura River.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN accordance with "The Government Railways Act, 1894," I, Alfred Jerome Cadman, the Minister for Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government Railways, to come into force on and after the 15th day of July, 1895:—

PART I.—PASSENGERS: GENERAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.

School Season Tickets.

  1. Season tickets available for three months will be issued to scholars and students at the following rates, and subject to the following conditions:—

For students and scholars not exceeding 16 years of age
First Class. 30s.
Second Class. 10s.

For students and scholars over 16 and not exceeding 20 years
First Class. 40s.
Second Class. 20s.

For students and scholars over 20 years of age half the rate for ordinary three-monthly season tickets will be charged. Minimum charge, first-class, 50s.; second class, 30s.

A certificate in the following form must be produced from the professor or schoolmaster that the applicant is a bona fide student or scholar in attendance at college or school, and that his or her age is within the prescribed limit:—

"I hereby certify that A.B. is a bona fide scholar in attendance at school at , and that present age is years months."

School tickets will be available for any distance not exceeding 55 miles. They are available only for travelling to and from school.

Teachers' Saturday Season Tickets.

  1. Teachers' Saturday Tickets will be issued at the following rate per term not exceeding four months, or fractional part of a term, for public-school teachers attending Saturday training classes:—

(a.) Allowing teachers to travel to class on Friday and return on Saturday
First Class. 30s.

(b.) Allowing teachers to travel to class on Saturday and return on Monday
First Class. 30s.

(c.) Allowing teachers to travel to class on Saturday and return the same day
First Class. 20s.

These tickets cannot be used unless the holder is proceeding to or coming from the training school.

Application must be made in the following form, and certified to by the Secretary of the Education Board, before a ticket will be issued:—

"Form of Application and Certificate.

"I hereby declare that I, , am employed by the Education Board as teacher at District School, and that I intend, during the session ending , to attend the teachers' training classes or University lectures at ; and I hereby request the Railway Department to supply me with a Teachers' Saturday Season Ticket, at fare as per (a) , which I undertake to use solely for the purpose of attending the said training classes or lectures as indorsed, and subject to the by-laws, rules, and regulations in force on the New Zealand Government Railways; and I agree that the ticket shall be forfeited should I at any time fail to observe such by-laws, rules, and regulations, or to fulfil this undertaking.
