Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby authorise
the said Court to exercise in respect of the said land the
jurisdiction conferred as aforesaid—that is to say, to deter-
mine whether or not the said land or any part thereof was, on
the investigation of title thereto, intended by the Native
Land Court, or by the nominal owner or owners of such land,
to be held by such nominal owner or owners in trust for
Natives not named in the title, and to determine who are the
Natives (if any) entitled beneficially to such land, and to
order the inclusion of such Natives in the title, either
together with or in lieu of the nominal owners or any of them
—and for the purpose aforesaid to order the cancellation or
amendment of any existing instrument of title, and the issue
of such new Crown grants or other instruments of title as
may be necessary, and generally to exercise in respect of the
said land all the jurisdiction and powers conferred on the
Native Land Court by subsection ten of section fourteen of
"The Native Land Court Act, 1894."
SCHEDULE.
All that block of land known as Te Kiwi Block, containing
133 acres, more or less, situate in the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay.

Extending the Close Season for Seals.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of June, 1895.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by "The Sea-fisheries Act, 1894" (herein-
after termed "the said Act"), it is, among other
things, enacted that the Governor in Council may from time
to time make regulations (which shall have general force and
effect throughout the colony, or particular force and effect
only in any waters or places specified therein) for prescribing,
among other things, a close season for seals, and for
extending any close season so prescribed:
And whereas it is further provided by the said Act that
every person who, during any close season for seals, takes
any seals is liable for every such offence to a penalty not
exceeding five hundred pounds, and in addition thereto is
liable to a further penalty, not exceeding twenty pounds, in
respect of every seal so taken:
And whereas by Order in Council, dated the twenty-first
day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
four, the months of January, February, March, April, May,
and June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, were
prescribed a close season for seals:
And whereas it is desirable to extend such close season:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule
hereto; and with the like advice and consent doth order
that such regulations shall have force and effect throughout
the Colony of New Zealand, and in all salt, fresh, and
brackish waters of the colony, and on all shores of such
waters or any part thereof.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATIONS.

The close season for seals prescribed by regulations made
by Order in Council dated the 21st day of December, 1894,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 1, of the
4th day of January, 1895, is hereby extended up to the 30th
day of June, 1896. -
Every person who, during the close season prescribed
as aforesaid, takes any seals is liable to a penalty of not less
than £25 nor more than £500, and in addition thereto is
liable to a further penalty of not less than £1 nor more than
£20, in respect of every seal so taken. The taking of seals
means and includes the killing, catching, dredging for,
raising, or hunting of any seal, or any attempt so to do. -
No person shall buy, sell, expose for sale, consign for
sale, buy for sale, or have in possession any seal, or any
skins, oil, or blubber from any seal, in any manner in con-
travention of the said Act or of these regulations; and every
person so doing is liable for every such offence to a penalty
of not less than £1 nor more than £20.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls,
Ashburton.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of June, 1895.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to
unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the
rolls for the County of Ashburton, and the taking of certain
steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and
taken within the times limited by "The Counties Act, 1886,"
and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates
mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective
dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.

For preparing the rolls for ridings within the County of
Ashburton: Until the 24th June, 1895. -
Time for which such rolls shall be open for inspection:
From the 25th June, 1895, to the 29th June, 1895. -
Time for appeals against the said rolls: Until the 6th
July, 1895. -
Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications with
reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 13th
July, 1895. -
Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected
and signed, shall come into force: On the 15th July, 1895.

Regulations respecting the Creation and Issue of Stamps.
GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
fifth day of June, 1895.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the tenth section of "The Stamp Act,
1882," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do
hereby make the Regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto
for the creation and issue of impressed stamps and adhesive
stamps for the purposes of the said Act, and also for the
audit of such stamps, and of the accounts relating thereto.
SCHEDULE.
I.—OF THE CREATION AND ISSUE OF IMPRESSED STAMPS.

Impressed stamps shall be created under the immediate
control of the Secretary of Stamps. The stamp dies shall be
kept in his custody under lock and key, and when required
he shall hand them to the Head Stamper, who shall return
them to the Secretary day by day immediately after use. -
Stamps shall be impressed only in pursuance of requisi-
tions by persons requiring them; and only (except in the
case of banks and Deputy Commissioners of Stamps) on
payment of the money represented by the stamps impressed. -
Impressed stamps on cheque-books and forms of bills
of exchange may be issued to banks on credit; a quarterly
account being rendered by the bank of the value of the
stamps received, issued, and on hand, accompanied by a
remittance of the value sold during the quarter. -
The Head Stamper shall be responsible for all stamps
created under each requisition until the same is completed,
when he shall hand them over to the Secretary, by whom
they shall be sent to the several requisitioners.
II.—OF THE CREATION AND ISSUE OF ADHESIVE STAMPS.
- The dies for making the plates for printing adhesive
stamps shall be kept in the custody of the Secretary, by
whom they shall be handed when required to the Govern-
ment Printer, who shall give a receipt therefor. The Govern-
ment Printer, having made the plates required, shall forth-
with return the dies to the custody of the Secretary, who
shall thereupon cancel the receipt. The Secretary shall
keep a register of all dies, in which shall be recorded every
transaction relating to each die.
