SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 3045 (in red), Block IX., Spaxton Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded on the north-east by the south-west boundary
of Section No. 36013 and a road-line ; on the southward by
a road-line; and on the westward by Taylor's Stream: as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office
of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.

Boards.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day
of January, 1895.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Education Act, 1877," His
Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the colony, doth hereby make the
regulation hereto annexed regarding certain payments of
capitation allowance to Education Boards; and, with the
like advice and consent, doth hereby prescribe that this
Order shall come into force on the date of the first publica-
tion thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATION.
NOTWITHSTANDING anything to the contrary contained in an
Order in Council made on the 5th day of January, 1888,
under the provisions of "The Education Act, 1877," relating
(inter alia) to attendance registers and returns, the payment
of capitation allowance to Education Boards for the quarter
ending on the 31st day of March, 1895, shall be accord-
ing to the working-average attendance of the quarter ending
on the 31st day of December, 1894, as working average is
defined by Order in Council dated the 5th day of July, 1887,
and made under the provisions of the before-mentioned Act.

Notifying Lands in Southland for Sale by Public Auction.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of "The
Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednes-
day, the thirteenth day of March, one thousand eight hun-
dred and ninety-five, as the time at which the lands
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said
lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule
hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having
received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural
lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the thirteenth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may,
at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease

eight hundred and ninety-four.

Fixing Shooting Season for Deer, License-fee, &c., Auck-
land District.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection
Act Amendment Act, 1881," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that fallow-deer (bucks only) may be taken or killed within
the Auckland District, consisting of the Auckland Provincial
District, excepting the Counties of Cook, Waiapu, Tauranga,
Rotorua, Whakatane, East Taupo, and Wairoa, and ex-
cepting also the Islands of Kawau and Motutapu, from the
first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-five, to the thirty-first day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five, both inclusive (subject,
nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned);
and I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such
game within the said district shall be issued on payment of
the sum of forty shillings each, and no holder of any such
license as aforesaid shall kill more than ten bucks under or
by virtue of such license; and the Chief Postmaster, Auck-
land, is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eleventh day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

Notice of Intention to take Land for a School.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of "The West Coast Settlements Act,
1892," and "The Public Works Act, 1894," to execute a
certain public work, to wit, the construction of a school,
on Subdivision No. 1 of Section 59, Block I., Hawera Survey
District, and for the purposes of such public work the land
described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken;
and notice is further given that the plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Nor-
manby, and is there open for inspection. And notice is
hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of
the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall,
if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution
of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set
forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within
forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister for Public Works, Wellington.
