A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto are State forests under the control of the Commissioner of State Forests appointed under "The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and the said lands are now no longer required for State-forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and position of the said lands, and a statement of the reasons why they are no longer required for State-forest purposes, have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The New Zealand State Forests Act Amendment Act, 1888," and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the Proclamation specified in the second column of the Schedule hereto, so far as it relates to the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the several parcels of land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
First Column.
ALL those two blocks of land, being abandoned sawmill areas, containing together by admeasure-
ment 2,139 acres 3 roods 32 perches, more or less, hereinafter defined, viz.:
That parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1,482 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less,
situated in Blocks XXIII. and XXIV., Invercargill Hundred, and comprising sawmill areas Nos.
129, 132, 154, 162, 169, 173, 176, 202, 213, 215, 216, 241, 248, 252, 253, 254, 255, and 272. Bounded
towards the north by Block VII., Invercargill Hundred; towards the north-east by a line, 7450 links;
towards the south by a right line, 400 links; towards the east by a right line, 4400 links; again
towards the south by a right line, 2300 links; towards the west by a right line, 2400 links; again
towards the south by a right line, 2550 links; again towards the east by a right line, 950 links;
again towards the south by a right line, 1250 links; again towards the east by a right line, 2550 links;
again towards the south by a right line, 1950 links; again towards the east by a right line, 2450 links;
again towards the north by a right line, 8050 links; again towards the west by a right line, 3350
links; again towards the north by a right line, 1350 links; towards the north-west by a right line,
620 links; again towards the north by a right line, 2000 links; again towards the north-east by a
right line, 5250 links; again towards the north by a right line, 750 links; again towards the north-
east by a right line, 4150 links; again towards the south by a right line, 4000 links; towards the
south-west by a right line, 2350 links; again towards the south by a right line, 13500 links; again
towards the west by Sections Nos. 12, 13, 14, and 15 of Block XXIII., Invercargill Hundred, and by
a right line, 6200 links; again towards the south by a right line, 1020 links; again towards the west
by a right line, 980 links; again towards the north by a right line, 1020 links; again towards the
west by a right line, 2950 links; again towards the north by a right line, 2700 links; and again
towards the west by a right line, 6150 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 657 acres 1 rood 12 perches, more or
less, situated in Block XXIII., Invercargill Hundred, and in Blocks VIII. and IX., Campbelltown
Hundred, and comprising sawmill areas Nos. 122, 127, 138, 160, 163, and 192. Bounded towards the
north by the Seaward Bush Railway-line, 9350 links; towards the north-east by a right line, 4300
links; towards the south by a right line, 4200 links; towards the east by a right line, 3100 links;
again towards the north-east by a right line, 5300 links; again towards the south by a right line,
8400 links; again towards the east by a right line, 370 links; again towards the south by a right
line, 1400 links; towards the west by a right line, 2300 links; again towards the south by a right
line, 1450 links; again towards the west by a right line, 500 links; towards the north-west by right
lines, 1000 links and 1950 links; again towards the west by a right line, 300 links; towards the
south-west by a right line, 3550 links; again towards the south by a right line, 2100 links; and
again towards the west by a right line (the eastern side of the road forming the eastern boundary of
Section No. 14, Block XXIII., Invercargill Hundred), 2350 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 760 acres, more or
less, situated in Block XXII., Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the north-west generally by
part of the south-eastern boundary-line of Block II., by Section No. 40, Block XXII., by other part
of the south-eastern boundary-line of said Block II., and by Section No. 5, Block XXII.; towards
the east by Block XXIII.; towards the south by the Invercargill Municipal Endowment and Section
No. 6, Block XXII.; and towards the west by the road which forms the western boundary of said
Block XXII.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 690 acres, more or
less, situated in Block XXII., Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the north by the road forming
the southern boundary of Sections Nos. 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and by railway reserve; towards the
east by the road forming the western boundary of South Invercargill Municipal Endowment and North
Invercargill Municipal Endowment; towards the south by Campbelltown Hundred; and towards the west
by the road forming the western boundary of Block XXII. aforesaid.
Second Column.
A Proclamation dated the 24th February, 1895, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11,
of 4th March, 1895, page 253.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this fifteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.
