Licensing of Vehicles.—By-laws made by Tuapeka County
Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 311 of
"The Counties Act, 1886," that so much of the by-law
No. 8 made by the Tuapeka County Council, and sealed with
the seal of the Council on the 11th January, 1895, as appoints
the several sums to be paid to the county funds for the
licensing of vehicles, has this day been approved by His
Excellency the Governor.

THE following special orders, made by the Featherston
Road Board, are published in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

FEATHERSTON ROAD BOARD.
THAT, for the purpose of meeting interest and charges on an
additional loan of £58 under "The Loans to Local Bodies
Act, 1886," for the Kahautara-Pukeo Road, a further special
rate of 1/16d. in the pound be levied on the rateable value of all
properties in the Kahautara-Pukeo special rating district, as
described in the New Zealand Gazette of 26th July, 1894,
such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six
years from the 1st August, 1895, payable on the 1st August
and 1st February in each year; the first payment to be
deemed to be due and payable on the 1st August, 1895.
That, for the purpose of meeting interest and charges on an
additional loan of £28 under "The Loans to Local Bodies
Act, 1886," for Martinborough-Pukeo Road, a further special
rate of 1/4d. in the pound on the rateable value of all proper-
ties in the Martinborough-Pukeo special rating district, as
described in the New Zealand Gazette of 27th September,
1894, such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-
six years from the 1st August, 1895, payable on the 1st
August and 1st February in each year; the first payment
to be deemed to be due and payable on the 1st August, 1895.
That, for the purpose of meeting interest and charges on an
additional loan of £28 under "The Loans to Local Bodies
Act, 1886," for Tullock's Road, a further special rate of 1/4d. in
the pound will be levied on the rateable value of all proper-
ties in the Tullock's Road special rating district, as described
in the New Zealand Gazette of 27th September, 1894, such
rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years
from the 1st August, 1895, payable on the 1st August and
1st February in each year; the first payment to be deemed
to be due and payable on the 1st August, 1895.

THE following special order, made by the Manchester
Road Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT the following special order be made, viz:—
"That it is the intention of the Manchester Road Board
(under the provisions of "The Loans to Local Bodies Act,
1886," and under and by virtue of a warrant issued under the
hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand dated
the 21st day of June, 1894, authorising the Kiwitea County
Council to construct a bridge over the Kiwitea River on the
Cheltenham Cross Road, and apportioning the cost of the
said bridge) to borrow the sum of £210, for the purpose of
providing one-third of the cost of erecting a traffic-bridge
over the Kiwitea River on the Cheltenham Cross Road and
making the approaches thereto, and all other work necessary
for the completion of the said bridge in accordance with the
above-mentioned warrant; and that a special rate of 1/30d. in
the pound be made upon the rateable value of all the rate-
able property (Crown and Native lands occupied by Native
owners excepted) within the Manchester Road District, for
the purpose of paying the interest on the above loan of £210
to be borrowed under "The Government Loans to Local
Bodies Act, 1886," such rate to be an annually-recurring
rate for twenty-six years, and payable in equal instalments,
at the Board's office, on the first day of April and October in
each year."
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
made, and recorded in the minute-book of the Manchester
Road Board, at a meeting held on the 4th August, and con-
firmed at a meeting held on the 6th October, 1894.
