MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
Result of poll of ratepayers of the Stanley, Makuri, and Manawawiri Roads Special Area, taken on Monday, the 18th February, 1895, upon the proposal to raise a loan of £1,200, under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of metalling portion of the Stanley Road from the Croydon Road eastwards, and forming portions of the Manawawiri and Makuri Road; to pay out of such loan the cost of raising it; to strike as security on this loan a special rate of 5½d. in the pound on the following lands: viz., Sections 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, Block XI., 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, Block XIV., Huiroa Survey District:—

WAIMAKARIRI-ASHLEY WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT, COOPER'S CREEK SUBDIVISION.—POLL FOR LOAN OF £1,700.
The following is the result of the poll taken in the Cooper's Creek Subdivision of the district on Thursday, the 14th day of February, 1895:—
Votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 120, representing £36,195 rateable value: votes recorded against the proposal, 3, representing £1,280 rateable value; votes informal, 1, representing £310 rateable value; votes unrecorded, 65, representing £7,314 rateable value.
As the number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal exceeds half the total number of ratepayers on the roll, and the number so voting represents more than three-fifths of the total rateable value of the rateable property, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

I, John O'Halloran, of Glentui, Bennett's, sheep-farmer, Chairman of the Waimakariri-Ashley Water-supply Board, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by "The Water-supply Act, 1891," "The Counties Act, 1886," and amendments thereto, and "The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," and amendments thereto, to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the ratepayers of the Cooper's Creek Subdivision of the district to the proposal to raise a special loan of £1,700 for the purpose of constructing a dam across Cooper's Creek at a point in the creek about 7 chains to the south of the northernmost corner of Rural Sections 17978 and 20285, the construction of a main channel leading from the said dam to a point on the western boundary of the Cooper's Creek Subdivision of the district, and distributory channels from the last-mentioned point on the western boundary sufficient to supply water to the whole of the Cooper's Creek Subdivision of the district, also the construction of a channel on the western side of Cooper's Creek leading from the aforesaid dam sufficient to supply water to Rural Sections 14455, 19616, 4362, 12306, and 30205, have been duly taken, and that the resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried.

BONUS ON STARCH MANUFACTURED IN NEW ZEALAND.—AMENDED NOTICE.

Wellington, 15th November, 1893.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of two pounds (£2) a ton will be paid on 100 tons of starch manufactured in the Colony of New Zealand in each of the years 1893 and 1894.
CONDITIONS.

Notice of intention to claim the bonus for 100 tons in 1893 must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1893. Notice of intention to claim the bonus for 100 tons in 1894 must be given in the same manner not later than the 31st December, 1894.

The claims must be made respectively before the 31st December, 1893 and 1894.

The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be the recipient of the bonus.

Evidence to be produced of such a nature as will enable an officer appointed by the Government to certify that the above-stated quantity in each year has been actually made, sold, and delivered.

The bonus to be paid only on the certificate of such officer.

Bonus for the Manufacture of Potassium Cyanide.
Department of Industries and Commerce,
Wellington, 17th January, 1895.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of £1,000 will be paid for the erection of a plant and the manufacture in New Zealand of the first 200 tons of crude cyanide of potassium from colonial produce.

The plant must be capable of producing at least 70 tons of crude cyanide of potassium annually.

The crude cyanide of potassium so manufactured shall contain at least 70 per cent. of potassium cyanide.

The bonus will be paid in two equal instalments, the first instalment being payable on the production of the first 100 tons, and the second instalment on the production of the second 100 tons, of crude cyanide of potassium containing the required percentage of potassium cyanide.

On the completion of the plant, notice in writing must be sent to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Wellington, who will appoint an officer to inspect the same, together with the raw material then available from which the cyanide of potassium is proposed to be manufactured.

The officer so appointed shall from time to time inspect the process of manufacture, in order that he may satisfy himself that the whole of the cyanide of potassium is being manufactured from material of New Zealand production; and before any bonus is paid such officer will be required to certify that he is satisfied the crude cyanide of potassium is the product of New Zealand material only, and that it contains the required percentage of potassium cyanide.

The bonus must be claimed for the first 100 tons on or before the 31st March, 1897, and for the second 100 tons on or before the 30th September, 1898.
