Shooting Season for Imported and Native Game, License-
fee, &c., Tauranga District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and the Acts amending the same,
I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock pheasants and Cali-
fornian quail may be taken or killed within the Tauranga
District, consisting of the Counties of Tauranga and Rotorua,
and so much of the Counties of East Taupo and Whakatane
as lies to the north of the Rangitaiki River, together with
all boroughs therein, from the first day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five, to the thirty-first day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, both inclusive
(subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts
mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take
or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on
payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses
to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of
the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmasters at Tau-
ranga and Rotorua are hereby appointed to sign and issue
the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui,
huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed
within the above-mentioned district from the first day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, to the
thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-five, both days inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

consisting of the Counties of Wanganui and Waitotara, from
the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
five, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-five, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the
restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further
notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said
district shall be issued on payment of the sum of ten shillings
each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall
be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and
the Chief Postmaster at Wanganui, and the Postmasters at
Waverley and Waitotara are hereby appointed to sign and
issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui,
huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed
within the above-mentioned district from the first day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, to the
thirty-first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of Portions of
Reserves in Wellington Land District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is
amongst other things enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and in the case of any
reserve made under the authority of section one hundred
and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or
presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other
purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such
reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one
or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor
may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same
is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my in-

tention to change the specific purpose of the portion of the
reserves described in the second column of the Schedule
hereto from that named in the first column of the said
Schedule to that named in the third column of the said
Schedule respectively.
