officer and Inspector of Mines shall certify that
such workman is unable to work, or, in cases
where any workman is permanently disabled, he
may be granted a fixed sum, not exceeding £50, in
satisfaction of all claims: Provided that no work-
man shall be entitled to any payment unless he
shall have been so disabled by accident as to pre-
vent him working for a period of not less than
one week or more.

(b.) If any workman meets with an accident which
proves fatal, the nearest relative of such work-
man may be granted a sum not exceeding £10
towards defraying the funeral expenses of the
deceased workman; and an additional sum not
exceeding £15 may be granted to the widow or
other near relative of such deceased workman, in
full satisfaction of all claims.

(c.) Any workman who meets with an accident which
disables him from work shall send, or cause to be
sent, within seven days of such accident occurring,
a notice in writing to the Inspector of Mines; and
all applications for relief must be made within
fourteen days from the date of the accident, or
the claim cannot be entertained.

(d.) No workman shall be entitled to relief from the
Coal-miners' Relief Fund for any accident caused
by drinking intoxicating liquors, fighting, or any
kind of athletic sports or game of amusement, or
for any accident caused by the misconduct of such
workman.

Extension of Time for completing Mining Property Valua-
tion-roll, Arahura Riding, County of Westland, and for
giving Notices.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of February, 1895.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Valuer appointed by the Council of
the County of Westland under "The Gold Duty
Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890" (herein-
after called "the said Act"), failed, through misadventure,
to complete the valuation-roll of mining property in the
Arahura Riding of the said county in the month of January
last, as required by the said Act, and it is expedient to ex-
tend the time for completing the said valuation-roll, and
also to extend the time for giving notice of the rateable
value determined by such Valuer to each occupier, as re-
quired by subsection three of section seven of the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in order that the purpose and intent of
"The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act,
1890," may have effect, and in pursuance and exercise of the
powers vested in him by "The Rating Act, 1894," which
said Act is incorporated with the first above-mentioned Act,
and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for
completing the valuation-roll of the said Arahura Riding
until the ninth day of March, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-five; and doth also hereby extend the time
within which the said Valuer shall give notice of the rateable
value determined by him to each occupier, so that such
notices may be given on or before the twenty-third day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and
that objections to such valuations may be made on or before
the fifteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-five.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of February, 1895.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Greymouth Harbour Board, being a
leasing authority within the meaning of "The
Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), has requested that these presents should issue,
and it appears expedient to make the order hereinafter con-
tained:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby order and declare that the Greymouth
Harbour Board shall, as from the date of publication hereof
in the New Zealand Gazette, be subject to the provisions of
the said Act.

Prohibiting the Exportation of Firearms, &c., from New
Zealand to Samoa.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of February, 1895.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Customs Laws Consolidation Act,
1882," it is amongst other things enacted that any
goods whatever may, by Proclamation or Order in Council,
revocable from time to time, be prohibited to be exported;
and if any goods shall be exported from the colony contrary
to any such prohibition, or be waterborne to be so exported
or carried, they shall be forfeited, and any person offending
against the provisions of such Proclamation or Order shall
for every such offence forfeit and pay the sum of five hun-
dred pounds:
And whereas it is advisable to prohibit the exportation of
firearms, gunpowder, munitions of war, and warlike stores to
the Samoa or Navigators Islands except as hereinafter pro-
vided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers
enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth by
this present Order absolutely prohibit the exportation from
New Zealand to the Samoa or Navigators Islands of all fire-
arms, gunpowder, munitions of war, and warlike stores:
Provided that this prohibition shall not extend or apply to
any firearms, gunpowder, munitions of war, or warlike stores
exported by or on behalf of, and consigned to, the Samoan
Government.

Extending Time for Preparation of Valuation Lists, Coun-
ties of Thames, Collingwood, Akaroa, and Southland.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of February, 1895.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the pre-
paration of the valuation lists of the Counties of
Thames, Collingwood, Akaroa, and Southland cannot be
completed by or within the time mentioned in "The Rating
Act, 1894":
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by
the said "Rating Act, 1894," and by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby extend the time for completing the valuation lists of
the said Counties of Thames, Collingwood, and Southland
until the 15th day of March, 1895, and the time for complet-
ing the valuation list of the said County of Akaroa until the
30th day of March, 1895.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twelfth section of
"The Harbours Act, 1878," it is enacted that the
Governor in Council may, for the purposes specified in the
said section, from time to time make regulations, to be
called "General Harbour Regulations," and which shall be
in force in all the ports of the colony:
