Previous to the old guard marching off, the several articles
above enumerated were examined and found correct, the guard-
room clean, and board of orders legible. Immediately after the
old guard marched away, I read the orders to the guard, and
again to the first relief. I inspected every relief, both going
out and coming in, and found them fit for duty. I visited the
sentries at __ and at __ by day, and at __ and at
__ by night; they were alert on their posts, and
acquainted with their respective orders.

Double rates will be charged for ammunition made away
with or lost through neglect.
Articles made in the colony will be charged for at cost price,
and those imported from the Imperial Government according
to "Priced Vocabulary of Stores" used in Her Majesty's ser-
vice, column 2, with 15 per cent. added. Arm-chests and
snider-cases not returned or otherwise accounted for will be
charged against capitation grant.
