THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Marine Board, Port Adelaide, South Australia, is published for general information.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA.—PORT ADELAIDE RIVER.
MASTERS and pilots of vessels and others are hereby informed that the deepening of the channel from the Semaphore Anchorage to the Inner Harbour, Port Adelaide, has been completed to a width of 250ft. and a depth of 23ft. at ordinary low-water springs. On and after the 1st November, 1894, the tide signals at the Semaphore will be altered accordingly.

BLUFF HARBOUR LIGHTSHIP OUT OF POSITION.

Wellington, N.Z., 14th November, 1894.
THE Bluff Harbour Board has notified that the lightship at the entrance to Bluff Harbour has dragged considerably from her proper position, and that, so soon as the weather moderates, a black buoy will be placed to mark the proper position of the lightship. Due notice will be given when the vessel has been replaced in position.

Gold-mining Lease cancelled.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and that the ground is now open for application as if no lease of the said ground had ever been applied for:—
Thomas Evans, Patrick Callanan, and others, for the Waitahuna Cement Gold-mining Company: Section 113, Block V., Waitahuna East Survey District, 5 acres and 1 perch. No. 824c. Otago Mining District.

Bonus on Starch manufactured in New Zealand.—Amended Notice.

Wellington, 15th November, 1893.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of two pounds (£2) a ton will be paid on 100 tons of starch manufactured in the Colony of New Zealand in each of the years 1893 and 1894.
CONDITIONS.

Notice of intention to claim the bonus for 100 tons in 1893 must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1893. Notice of intention to claim the bonus for 100 tons in 1894 must be given in the same manner not later than the 31st December, 1894.

The claims must be made respectively before the 31st December, 1893 and 1894.

The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be the recipient of the bonus.

Evidence to be produced of such a nature as will enable an officer appointed by the Government to certify that the above-stated quantity in each year has been actually made, sold, and delivered.

The bonus to be paid only on the certificate of such officer.

Bonus on Mineral Oil manufactured from Orepuki Shale.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid for the production of mineral oil under the following conditions:—

A bonus of 1s. per gallon (£5,000) will be paid on the first 100,000 gallons of mineral oil produced from shale obtained in the Orepuki district, Otago; the oil to be of a quality approved of by Government, and to be sold at a fair average market price.

Notice of intention to claim the aforesaid bonus must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1894.

The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1895.
-
The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the recipient of the bonus.
-
The other conditions, as to quantity, priority, quality, and value, to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the Government.

NOTICE is hereby given that FRANCIS CLAUDE LOADER, Esq., of No. 63, Queen Street, Melbourne, has been this day appointed by his Honour the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Victoria, under the 2nd section of “The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act, 1875,” for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Examination of Mine-managers.

AN examination of candidates for certificates as First- and Second-class Mine-managers under “The Mining Act, 1891,” and “The Coal-mines Act, 1891,” will be held on Tuesday, the 29th January, 1895, and three following days, at places to be hereafter named. All applications, with necessary certificates, and fee of £1, must be addressed to “The Secretary of the Board of Examiners under the Mining Act or Coal-mines Act, Wellington,” and must be received before the 1st January, 1895, or they will not be dealt with until the following examination.
