Land reserved as Endowments for Education.

GLASGOW, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS under the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892," the reserves enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto were temporarily reserved as endowments for education upon the respective dates specified in the second column of the said Schedule, and severally set opposite the respective descriptions of the said reserves:
And whereas notices of such reservations were laid upon the table of each House of the General Assembly: And whereas the two Houses passed resolutions, upon the dates specified in the third column, approving, in terms of the two hundred and thirty-eighth section of "The Land Act, 1892," of the lands being permanently set aside as endowments for education:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by "The Land Act, 1892," do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be reserved as endowments for education, as herein specified respectively.

Revoking Order in Council bringing Land within Jurisdiction of Native Land Court.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this third day of November, 1894.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council bearing date the thirteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, the land described in the Schedule hereto was brought within the jurisdiction of the Native Land Court in respect of the matters specified in such Order in Council: And whereas it is expedient to revoke such Order in Council, as hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by "The Native Land Court Act, 1886," and its amendments, and of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council of the thirteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, as and from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

"The Destitute Persons Act, 1894," brought into Operation in respect of Persons of the Native Race.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by section three of "The Destitute Persons Act, 1894" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation in respect of persons of the aboriginal native race in such districts and at such times as the Governor shall from time to time direct:
And whereas it is expedient for the purposes of the said Act to constitute and appoint the districts hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby constitute and appoint the districts described in the Schedule hereto to be districts in which "The Destitute Persons Act, 1894," shall, on and after the fifteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, come into operation in respect of persons of the aboriginal native race.
And I do hereby declare that for the purposes of the said Act each such district shall be called by the name set over the description thereof in the said Schedule.

NORTH ISLAND DISTRICT.
All that area contained within the North Island of the Colony of New Zealand and the smaller islands adjacent thereto.
SOUTH ISLAND DISTRICT.
All that area contained within the Middle Island and Stewart Island, in the Colony of New Zealand, and the smaller islands adjacent thereto.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, at Christchurch, this seventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.
