Subdivisions of part of Run 225, which has been resumed
for settlement. This country was recently occupied by
Messrs. Ross and Glendining, and is comprised within High-
field Station. Run 225J is level and shingly; Run 225H is
broken. The land is open, of fair quality, watered, and of
an average altitude of 2,000ft. Rocks here and there pre-
sent themselves. The proposed Otago Central Railway tra-
verses Run 225H, and is adjacent to Run 225J. Naseby lies
about thirteen to fifteen miles distant.
Valuation for fencing, £10 5s., is payable immediately after
ballot on Run 225H. Mr. C. Brown is to be allowed one
month's time from date of sale to remove fencing erected by
him on Run 225J.

Subdivisions of parts of Pastoral Runs 225B and 225D,
resumed for settlement. Messrs. Ross and Glendining lately
occupied this country, which is comprised within Highfield
Station. It is open, broken, agricultural and pastoral land,
partly covered with rocks. The soil is black, and of good
quality. A good road runs from Naseby, which is about
thirteen miles distant, to Run 225. Distance from proposed
Otago Central Railway, about five miles. The land is
watered, and of an average altitude of 2,800ft.
Valuations for improvements are payable immediately
after ballot as follow: Run 225L, £11 14s.; Run 225K, £24
6s.; Run 225A, £39 3s.
CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

The term of lease is twenty-one years, with the option
of renewal for a further period of twenty-one years, at
a rent to be fixed by valuation, and improvements being
secured to lessee as provided by "The Land Act, 1892,"
section 182. Each lessee is required to make the declara-
tion as per form printed hereon. -
No person can lease more than one run.

Residence on the run is compulsory, and commences
within three years in bush or swamp land, and within one
year in open or partly open land, unless the lessee obtain the
consent of the Land Board to reside on other land in his
occupation. -
Permanent improvements must be effected equal to one
year's rental by the end of the first year, two years' rental
by the end of the second year, and four years' rental at the
end of the sixth year; and on bush land, in addition thereto,
improvements must be made to the value of 10s. an acre if
first-class land, or of 5s. an acre if second-class land. -
One half-year's rent and £1 1s. for the lease must be
paid immediately the application is declared successful; the
rent to be paid half-yearly in advance during the term of
the lease. The next payment of rent will become due on
the 1st January, 1895. -
The lessee has no right to purchase any part of the
land; but he can select 150 acres around the homestead,
through which no road can be taken or other public privilege
exercised without compensation.

chaser of a lease of Run No.†

and benefit, and not directly or indirectly for the use of any
other person or persons whatever. -
That I am not already the holder of any such lease in
any part of the colony, nor have I any interest in any such
lease. -
That I am not the holder of any run under Part VI. of
the aforesaid Act, nor have I any interest in any such run. -
That I do not own any freehold land or land held by
lease or license of any kind whatever anywhere in the
colony, either by myself or jointly with any other person,
which, exclusive of the land I am now purchasing the lease
of, will exceed in area 1,000 acres.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously be-
lieving the same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Justices
of the Peace Act, 1882."

Leases of Reserves, Taranaki, for Sale by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the under-
mentioned reserves will be submitted to public auc-
tion, in terms of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," at the
Crown Lands Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 14th
February, 1894, at 12 noon.

Term of lease, seven years. No rent is payable for the
first two years, but the lessee must clear the land of gorse and
fence the boundaries within one year of his lease, and lay
the land in grass in the sixth year. This reserve is con-
tiguous to the Town of Opunake, between the Otahi and
Waiua Streams.

Term of lease, ten years. The land to be cleared and laid
down in English grasses within five years from date of lease.
The reserve is situate between Section 39, Block X., and
Section 29, Block XIII., Opunake Survey District. Full
particulars may be obtained on application at this office.
Terms of Sale.—In the case of Subdivisions 2, 3, 12, and
13, the lease-fee of £1 1s. to be deposited on the fall of the
hammer; and in the case of Subdivision 8 the half-year's
rent, in addition to the lease-fee, to be deposited.
