with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such
application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and
acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said Land Transfer certificate on
the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of October, 1894.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Education Act, 1877," the
Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the colony, doth hereby amend the regulation
relating to teachers' certificates made by Order in Council
dated the fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-seven, by cancelling the tenth section of the said
regulation, and substituting for it the words of the First
Schedule hereto; and, further, by cancelling the sixteenth
section of the said regulation, and substituting for it the
words of the Second Schedule hereto; and, with the like
advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come
into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the
New Zealand Gazette.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
- A CANDIDATE who has served four years as a pupil-teacher,
or has been a student in a teacher's training-college for one
year, or has "obtained credit" at the Junior Scholarship
Examination of the University of New Zealand, may be
examined without regard to age; but, with this exception,
every candidate for examination must give evidence of having
reached the age of eighteen years, and, with the same
exception, every candidate relying on an equivalent exa-
mination must give evidence of having reached the age of
eighteen years before the time of such examination.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
- SUBJECT to the operation of Regulations 5, 6, 7, and 8,
graduates of the University of New Zealand in first- or
second-class honours may be admitted to Class A without
examination; as also may Masters of Art who at the M.A.
examination showed a degree of proficiency as high as that
which is required for first- or second-class honours.

Notifying Lands in Wellington for Sale by Public Auction.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of "The
Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednes-
day, the fifth day of December, one thousand eight hun-
dred and ninety-four, as the time at which the lands
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction, and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said
lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule
hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

A NOTICE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of "The Land Act, 1892," and of all
other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that
behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the Clutha
County Council, do by this notice hereby proclaim as roads
the portions of Crown lands mentioned in the Schedule
hereto.
