A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-eighth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the allotments of Crown lands respectively described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart for sale as village allotments, by auction, on Wednesday, the fifth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.

Allocating Lands reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in Waimate County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto form part of land taken for the purposes of the Lyttelton to Bluff Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such lands to the purposes of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the New Zealand Railway Commissioners that such lands are not required for railway purposes: And whereas such lands are situated in Waimate County, the local authority of which has consented to the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section five of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1889,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Waimate County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that strip of land in Waitaki Survey District, 100 links in width, commencing at the south side of the road which passes through Rural Section 3790, about 36 chains from its south-west boundary, and terminating at a point distant 28 chains north of the road which forms the southern boundary of Rural Section 15074, measuring along the western boundary of Reserve 1316, the western boundary thereof being the western boundary of the railway land in said Rural Section 3790 and of said Reserve 1316, together with a parallelogram abutting on same at the south boundary of, and in, Rural Section 3790, and measuring on the north and south sides 50 links each, and on the east and west sides 112 links each.

Also, all that strip of land, 100 links in width, commencing at the south side of the district road which forms the northern boundary of Rural Section 15075, and terminating at the road which forms the southern boundary of Rural Section 19739, the western boundary thereof being the western boundary of said Reserve 1316.

Also, all that strip of land, 75 links in width, commencing at the south-east side of the road which forms the north-west boundary of Rural Section 18232, and terminating at a line drawn in continuation of the south side of the road which forms the southern boundary of Rural Section 18233,

ERRATUM.—In the New Zealand Gazette, No. 72, of 4th October, page 1518, in notice of sitting of Native Land Court at Whangarei adjourned, for “28th day of November, 1894,” read “27th day of November, 1894.”
