MOA ROAD BOARD.
Notice is here by given that this Board, on the 29th
November, 1893, made the following special order:—
"1. That a special rate of 3d. in the bound be made and
levied over the following lands, which are here by constituted
the 'Rugby Road Special rating District': Sections 78, 79, 87, 88, 81, 80, 90, 91, 83, 84, 92, 93, 82, 86, 85, 89, 41, 95, 97, Moa. Such rate to be pay able in one sum at the Board's Office, Inglewood, on the 1st February, 1894.\""**

T HE following notice, received from the Chair man of
the Nga tapa Road Board, is published in accor -
dance with the pro visions of "The Local Bo dies' Loan Act,
1886.\""**

NGATAPA ROAD BOARD.
At a poll of the ratepayers of a special district, taken on the
23rd September, 1893, upon a proposal by this Board to raise
a loan of £500 for the purpose of constructing a road to
connect with the Nga tapa Road and extend it towards
Blocka 3 and 4, Nga tapa S urvey District, and Blocka 11, 15,
and 16, Mo tu S urvey District, the following votes were
recorded:—
For the proposal, 7 ratepayers, exercising 7 votes; against
the proposal, none. Total number of ratepayers on the
special roll 10, capable of exercising 10 votes.
As a majority of the persons on the special roll exercised a
majority of votes in favour of the proposal, I declare it
carried.

Bous on Mineral Oil manu factured from Orepuk i Shale.

N OTICE is here by given that a bonus will be paid for the
pro duction of mi neral oil under the following condi -
tions:—

A bonus of 1s. per gallon (£5,000) will be paid on the
first 100,000 gallons of mi neral oil produced from shal e
obtained in the Orepuk i district, Otago; the oil to be of a
quality approved of by Government, and to be sold at a fair
ave rage market price. -
No tice of intention to claim the aforesaid bonus must
be given in writing to the Co lo nial Secretary not later than
the 31st December, 1894. -
The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1895.

The first claimant who proves to the satis faction of the
Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the
re cipient of the bonus. -
The other conditions, as to quantity, priority, quality,
and value, to be fulfilled to the satis faction of an officer ap -
pointed for the purpose by the Government.

N OTICE is here by given that a bonus of two pounds
( £2) a ton will be paid on 100 ton of st arch ma nu -
factured in the Co lo n y of New Zea land in each of the years
1893 and 1894.
CONDITIONS.

No tice of intention to claim the bonus for 100 ton in
1893 must be given in writing to the Co lo nial Secretary not
latter than the 31st December, 1893. No tice of intention to

same manner not later than the 31st December, 1894. -
The claims must be made respectively before the 31st
De cem ber, 1893 and 1894. -
The first claimant who proves to the satis faction of the
Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be
the re cipient of the bonus. -
Evi dence to be produced of such a nature as will enable
an officer ap pointed by the Government to cer tify that the
above-stated quantity in each year has been actually made,
sold, and delivered. -
The bonus to be paid only on the certificate of such
officer.

N OTICE is here by given that a bonus will be paid on
glass bott les manu factured in the Co lo n y of New
Zealand, on the following conditions:—
- A bonus of 10s. per gro ss will be paid on the first seven
hundred and fift y (750) gro ss of glass bott les manu factured
and sold at the following prices:—
Sau ce, p ints, 18s. per gro ss.
Sau ce, half-p ints, 16s. per gro ss.
One -pound j ams, 18s. per gro ss.
Two -pound j ams, 24s. per gro ss.
An chovies, 12s. per gro ss.
Pick les, 19s. per gro ss.
Le mo nade, 20s. to 23s. per gro ss.
Soda -water, 20s. to 22s. 6d. per gro ss.

Prizes for Collec tions of Dried Speci mens of Grasses and Forage Plants.—Notice No. 369.
De part ment of Agriculture,
Wellington, 9th May, 1893.
P RIZES offered for collections of d ried specimens of
grasses and forage plants, introduced and native, pro -
minence being given to the most useful indigenous species.
First price, £25; second, £15.
All specimens must have been gather ed in the co lo n y.
Each specimen must be mount ed on paper, 18in. by 11in.,
and bear, if possible, both popuIar and scientific names, also
the name of the local ity where obtained.
The collections winning the prizes are to become the pro -
per ty of the department, where they will remain on exhi bi -
tion, with the names of the collectors affixed.
All collections for compe tition must be delivered at the
of fice of the Secretary for Agriculture, at the Government
Buildings, Wellington, not later than the 31st March, 1894.
Each collection must be marked with a motto, and be
accompa n ied by a seaIed envelope containing a copy of such
motto, together with the full name and address of the
exhibitor.
The un success ful exhibits will be returned to the owners
carriage-free.
The Judges have power to with hold the prizes if they are
of opinion that none of the collections are wor th y of an
aw ard.
