Rural Land in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

All open land, most of which is swampy in character; when drained will be suitable for agriculture. Good black soil. Height above sea-level, about 700ft.; distance from Nightcaps Railway-station, about two miles. This section will be burdened with £5 16s. 8d. for survey fees.

Bounded towards the north-west by the Main South Road, 84 chains; towards the north-east by Section 827, 35 chains and 15 chains, and by road along the Makawiho River; towards the south-east by Run No. 43, 32 chains, 10 chains, and 80 chains; and towards the south-west by Run No. 43, 40 chains. Flat alluvial sandy soil, heavy scrub, and timber of mixed sorts. Not very good soil.

Fixing Sittings of the Nelson District Court.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of the NELSON DISTRICT. Nelson District Court, for civil and criminal business, shall be held as follows, in lieu of those previously fixed and appointed:—
In the Courthouse, Nelson: For civil business only, on the fourth Wednesday in the month of January, and the third Wednesday in the months of April, June, and September, and on the second Wednesday in the month of December, at 11 a.m.; and for civil and criminal business, on the third Wednesday in the months of February, May, August, and October, at 11 a.m.
Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the first day thereafter not being a holiday.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twentieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.
