THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Taradale River Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

TARADALE RIVER BOARD.

THE following is the result of the poll taken on the 16th instant on a proposal to borrow £700 under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886” :—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 207, representing 245 votes: Number of ratepayers voting in favour of proposal, 94, representing 126 votes; number voting against, 2, representing 2 votes.

The number of ratepayers voting in favour of proposal being less than one-half of the number on the roll, I declare the proposal rejected.

WAIHEMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION, That, in accordance with the provisions of subsection (6) of “The Rating Acts Amendment Act, 1893,” the County Council of the County of Waihemo hereby determine that “The Rating Act, 1882,” and amendments thereof, shall be in force within the Waihemo County, and that all assessments of property within the said county shall be made under the provisions of the said Acts.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution duly passed by the Waihemo County Council at a meeting held on the 10th day of July, 1894.

RESOLVED, That, under authority conferred by subsection (6) of section 2 of “The Rating Acts Amendment Act, 1893,” this Council hereby determine that “The Rating Act, 1882,” and amendments thereof, shall be in force within the Bruce County, and that all assessments of property within the said county shall be made under the provisions of the said Acts.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution duly passed by the Bruce County Council at a meeting held on the 3rd day of July, 1894.

Carried unanimously at a meeting of this Council held at Nelson, on the 5th day of July, 1894.

THE following by-law, made and passed by the Marine Board of Hobart, is published for general information.

BY-LAW NO. 8.

THIS by-law shall commence and take effect on and from the 3rd day of July, 1894. The following provision shall be read as if the same were part of By-law No. 4, and incorporated with that by-law in By-law No. 1.

Pilotage.

  1. Pilotage payable by any vessel liable to pay pilotage, whether upon entering into or leaving the Port of Hobart, shall be paid by every such vessel which shall enter into or depart from the waters comprised within an imaginary line drawn from the Derwent Lighthouse, at the entrance of the River Derwent, to Pearson’s Point, on the same river.

  2. All navigable waters of the said river within the said line and extending northwards therefrom shall, for pilotage purposes, be deemed to be the Port of Hobart.

Made and passed by the Marine Board of Hobart, when a majority in number of the Wardens were present, this first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.
