Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the eighth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act Amendment Act, 1888,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

JOHN GILLIAND,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under “The Post Office Act, 1881,” at Rongahere, is authorised to take and receive statutory declarations under the two hundred and thirty-fourth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Rangitikei County Council.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

COUNTY OF RANGITIKEI.—TURAKINA BRIDGE SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on Saturday, the 23rd June, 1894, on a proposal of the Rangitikei County Council to raise a sum of £1,500 by way of loan, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Turakina River, and making the approaches thereto, on the Maungahoe Main Line; and to levy a special rate on the value of the several properties within the above special district:—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 47; number of votes exercisable, 139: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 38; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 111; number of votes recorded against the proposal, nil.

A majority of the ratepayers, exercising more than one-half of the total number of votes exercisable, being in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be carried.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans, Eketahuna Road Board, County of Wairarapa North.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Eketahuna Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD, WAIRARAPA NORTH COUNTY.

THE following is the result of a poll taken at the Road Board Office, Eketahuna, 4th July, 1894, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £800 for 196 chains of formation and metalling on the Mangatainoko Valley Road:—

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 17; number of pollable votes, 17: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 11 (exercising 11 votes); number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, none; number of ratepayers who did not exercise their votes, 6 (being entitled to exercise 6 votes).

As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are in each case a majority of the total number on the roll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal are in each case a majority of the total number on the roll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.
