Recognition of Vice-Consul for Denmark at Wellington withdrawn.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that he has been advised by Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies that the Danish Minister in London has withdrawn his application for the recognition of Louis Ferdinand Tegner, Esq., as Danish Vice-Consul at Wellington, stating that Mr. Tegner has accepted an appoint-

ment under the Government of New Zealand, and is therefore no longer in a position to hold an appointment as Vice-Consul for Denmark. The notification which was published in the New Zealand Gazette of 1st December instant, recognising Mr. Tegner's appointment, is therefore withdrawn.

Special Order made by the Masterton Road Board, County of Wairarapa North.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER, made by the Board of the Masterton Road District, altering the Boundary between Subdivisions Nos. 1 and 2 of the said District.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by "The Road Boards Act, 1882," the Board of the Masterton Road District doth hereby make the following special order:—

"That, in accordance with the prayer of a petition in that behalf presented to the Board, the boundary between Subdivisions Nos. 1 and 2 of the Masterton Road District be, and the same is, hereby altered so as to include Sections 58, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18, Block XIII., and Sections 19 and 20, Block IX., Kopuaranga Survey District, at present in Subdivision No. 1 in Subdivision No. 2 of the said Road District; and that this special order shall take effect from and after the gazetting thereof."

Passed by the said Board this 23rd day of December, 1893.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Featherston Town Board.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Featherston Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.

In the matter of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

THE following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Featherston Town District, taken on Saturday, the 9th day of December, 1893, upon the following proposal: To raise a loan of £500 for the erection of a town-hall, bearing interest at £6 per centum per annum, such interest being payable half-yearly for a term of twenty-one years; to pay out of such loan the cost of raising same, and first year's interest; to pledge as security for the said loan a special rate of 3d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Featherston Town District; to set apart, in each year, £15 12s. 10d. as a sinking fund to repay the said loan:—

Number of ratepayers entitled to vote, 155, representing 173 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 89; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 103; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, nil.

I therefore declare the said proposal carried.
