Land declared to be Crown Lands subject to "The Land
for Settlements Act, 1892."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been acquired under the provisions of "The
Land for Settlements Act, 1892" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as
by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by
the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as
Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall, on the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be
Crown land subject to the provisions of "The Land for
Settlements Act, 1892."
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
All that area, containing by admeasurement 353 acres
1 rood 17 poles, more or less, being Sections Nos. 56, 57, and
58, and parts of Sections Nos. 59 and 60, of Block VIII.,
Awamoko Survey District, Sections Nos. 15, 16, and 17, and
parts of Sections Nos. 14, 18, 19, 20, and 21, of Block XII.,
Oamaru Survey District, and a road-line forming the northern
boundary of Block XII.; and bounded towards the west by
the Coal-pit Road; towards the north generally by a road-
line passing through Sections Nos. 60 and 59 of Block VIII.,
Awamoko Survey District, and bounding Sections Nos. 59,
57, and 56 of the said block on the north; towards the east
by Section No. 55 of the said Block VIII., Awamoko Survey
District, and Section No. 26 of Block XII., Oamaru Survey
District; towards the south-east generally by right lines,
446·4 links, 1066·1 links, 878·8 links, 563·7 links, and 543·1
links, passing through Section No. 18 of said Block XII.;
again towards the east by right lines, 579 links and 2702·8
links, passing through Sections Nos. 18, 19, 20, and 21 of
said Block XII.; and towards the south by a right line in
the direction of the north-east corner of Section No. 9 of
said Block XII., 3515·2 links, to the Coal-pit Road first men-
tioned: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of
December, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-three.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-third section of "The Land
Act, 1892," it is enacted that the Governor, by Pro-
clamation in the Gazette, may from time to time establish
and define, abolish, alter, or reconstitute local districts for
the sale or disposal of land, and in like manner from time to
time may appoint Land Offices and land officers, or other
persons, for conducting sales of land in such local districts,
and for receiving applications for the sale, letting, disposal,
or occupation of Crown lands, and for generally carrying
into effect the provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto is
established, defined, and constituted a local district for the
sale and disposal of land under the said Act; and that the
Land Offices the names of which are in the said Schedule set
opposite the name of the said local district are appointed
the Land Offices for the said local district.
