Result of Polls for Proposed Loans, Borough of Napier.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the
Borough of Napier, are published in accordance with
the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886."

BOROUGH OF NAPIER.—POLL FOR SPECIAL LOAN, £4,300—
WIDENING EMERSON STREET.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll of the burgesses of the
Central and South Wards of the Borough of Napier, taken
on Friday, the 27th day of April, 1894, for the purpose of
obtaining the necessary authority for raising a special loan
of £4,300 for widening Emerson Street, the following votes
were recorded:—

For the proposal, 379 votes; against the proposal, 36 votes.
I therefore publicly declare that the proposal to borrow a
sum of £4,300 for widening Emerson Street, upon the security
of separate rates of 10d. and 11d. in the pound upon all the
rateable property in the said street, was duly carried.

Statutory Declaration under Section 184 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886."

I, Maurice Norman Bower, of Napier, Town Clerk, do
solemnly and sincerely declare that all the proceedings
required to be taken under "The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1886," for the purpose of obtaining the sanction of the
burgesses to the proposal to raise a loan of £4,300 for widen-
ing Emerson Street have been duly taken, and that the
resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried;
and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing
the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an
Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The
Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

the 12th day of March, 1894, for the purpose of obtaining
the necessary authority for raising a special loan of £2,500
for the widening of Dickens Street, the following votes were
recorded:—

For the proposal, 213 votes; against the proposal, 29 votes.
I therefore publicly declare that the proposal to borrow a
sum of £2,500 for widening Dickens Street, upon the security
of separate rates of 9d. and 10d. in the pound upon all the
rateable property in the said street, was duly carried.

MACKENZIE COUNTY COUNCIL.—RESULT OF POLL UNDER
"THE LOCAL BODIES' LOANS ACT, 1886."

THE following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the
Mackenzie County, taken on the 27th day of April, 1894, on
the proposal to borrow £850, under "The Government Loans
to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of paying half
the cost of constructing a bridge across the Pukaki River:—

Number of ratepayers within the Mackenzie County, 253,
capable of exercising 459 votes: Number of ratepayers who
voted in favour of the proposal, 145, exercising 292 votes;
number of votes against the proposal, 0; number of rate-
payers who did not vote, 113.
