Rural Lands in the Otago Land District open for Sale or Selection.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

Rough land, covered with light mixed bush, principally manuka; soil fair to good; well watered; altitude averages 400ft. These sections are situated south of mouth of Taieri River, about six miles from Waihola Railway-station.

Undulating agricultural land, all bush, consisting of pine and kamai, with clumps of birch; fairly watered; altitude from 60ft. to 160ft. This block is situated in the Tahaukupu Valley, and is twenty-three miles from the proposed railway-station at Owaka, and twelve miles from Tautuku Bay.

Bush land. Soil of Section 15 mostly good, but partly clayey with moss. It contains pine, kamai, silver-birch, &c.; well watered; altitude from 450ft. to 700ft. Section 15 has good soil, and is level. It contains silver-birch and scrub; altitude 70ft.; situated about nineteen miles from Ratanui, and about twenty-four miles from Owaka.

Level, open land; arable; water available in summer by well-sinking; situated in Ida Valley, about thirteen miles from Hill's Creek. This section was recently surrendered by Mr. Thos. Neville. Valuation for fencing, £19 5s. This amount either must be lodged with application, or must be paid immediately the result of the ballot is declared.

Bush land, watered. Section 35 fronts Cannibal Bay, and is situated a mile and a half from main Glenomaru-Owaka Road. Section 44 is partly rough hillside, partly level; distance by track from Owaka Landing two miles. Sections 47 and 48 contain light sandy soil. About twenty acres of Section 48 is open. Both sections are level. They are situated on the seashore, near the mouth of the Catlin's River.
