Shooting Season for Native Game only, County of Ashburton.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the County of Ashburton from the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to sell native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Ashburton is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.

Shooting Season for Native Game, Kaikoura.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that native game, excepting tui, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the County of Kaikoura—except on the Lyell Creek, County of Kaikoura, between Lyell Bridge and the sea—from the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, both days inclusive. And I do further notify that licenses to sell such native game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Kaikoura is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.

Coursing Season for Hares, and Shooting Season for Native Game, License-fee, &c., Inangahua District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that hares may be taken or killed by coursing only within the Inangahua District, consisting of the County of Inangahua, from the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, both days inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to course hares within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of ten shillings each, and that licenses to sell hares and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmaster at Reefton is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned district from the second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, both days inclusive.

Alteration in Form of License for cutting and removing Flax from certain Reserves within Mining Districts.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by warrant issued under the authority of section 6 of “The Mining Act Amendment Act (No. 2), 1893” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), dated the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day of February then instant, a form of license was prescribed for cutting and removing flax from certain reserves within mining districts: And whereas it is expedient to cancel the form of license so prescribed, and to substitute another form in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities in that behalf conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby order and declare that the form of license set forth in the Second Schedule to the regulations aforesaid shall be and the same is hereby cancelled, and in exercise of the like powers and authorities I do hereby make and prescribe the form of license set forth in the Schedule hereto in lieu of the form so prescribed as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

FORM OF LICENSE TO CUT FLAX.

Know all men that I, Warden of the Warden’s Court constituted for the Mining District, sitting at , do hereby grant (with the consent of the Minister of Mines) unto , of , his executors, administrators, and assigns, hereinafter called “the licensee,” license and authority to enter upon the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, for the term of years, for the sole and exclusive purpose of cutting and dressing flax under and subject to the provisions of “The Mining Act, 1891,” “The Mining Act Amendment Act (No. 2), 1893,” and the regulations made thereunder, the said licensee paying therefor yearly in advance the rent or sum of pounds shillings and pence, and also, half-yearly, a royalty of 4s. for every ton of fibre manufactured from green flax cut or taken from the said land during the said term:

Provided always that this license, and any right or authority by virtue of it, shall be surrendered upon demand of the Warden for the said district of , or other person duly authorised by the Minister of Mines in that behalf, at any time, after notice of not less than thirty days, without any refund of rent or right to compensation to the said licensee, should the land described in this license, or any part of it, be required for any public purpose:
