MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special order was made on Saturday, 20th January, 1894, and confirmed on Saturday, 3rd March, 1894:—

That, to secure the repayment of a loan of £180 raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming and metalling the Beaconsfield Road from the Mountain Road eastwards, a special rate of 1d. in the pound be made and levied over the following properties, namely: Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, Block IV.; 5, 6, 7, 8, 15, 16, 17, 18, Block V.; 10, 11, 12, 13, 23, 24, 25, Block VI.; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, Block VII.; 7, 8, 9, 10, Block VIII.; 10, 11, 12, 13, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, Block IX., Midhirst East; and Sections 4, and 15, and part 6 (20 acres), Block XIII., Huiroa Survey District. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and shall be payable in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st of January and the 1st of July in each year.

POVERTY BAY ROAD DISTRICT BOARD.—MAKAURI SPECIAL DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers within this special district, taken on the 24th instant, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £300 for the draining of certain lands in the Makauri Special District, and erecting necessary culverts, the following votes were recorded:—

For the proposal, 14 persons, exercising 24 votes; against the proposal, none. Total number on the roll, 25 persons, capable of exercising 36 votes.

As a majority of persons exercised a majority of the votes in favour of the proposal, I declare it carried.

PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

AT a poll of the ratepayers of the Oero Riding, taken on the 9th March, 1894, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £2,000 for the purpose of repairing the Oero Bridge at Patangata, the following votes were recorded:—

For the proposal, 10 persons, exercising 31 votes. Number of ratepayers on the roll 11, exercising 36 votes.

As a majority in number of the ratepayers recorded their votes in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than half the number of votes exercisable, I therefore declare the proposal to be duly carried.

RESULT of a poll taken on the 24th day of February, 1894, on a proposal to raise a loan of £250, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming a bridle track from Mr. Cruickshank’s gate to Wainui, on the line of road laid down by Mr. Bennett:—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 13, representing 22 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour, 8, exercising 15 votes; votes not recorded, 7.

A majority of the ratepayers, exercising more than one-half the total number of votes, being in favour of proposal, I declare the proposal carried.

Number of ratepayers on roll, 36, representing 55 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour, 13, exercising 23 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against, nil; number of votes not recorded, 32.

As the number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal is less than one-half, and represent less than one-half of the total number of votes exercisable, I hereby declare the proposal to be rejected.

Number of ratepayers on roll, 45, representing 60 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour, 12, exercising 16 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against, 13, exercising 16 votes; number of votes not recorded, 28.

As the number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal is less than one-half, and represent less than one-half of the total number of votes exercisable, I hereby declare the proposal to be rejected.
